Question about wheels for lease

If the wheels are painted black and cannot be removed, how much would BMW FS charge for them?

Thanks,

If they were powder coated a glossy dark gunmetal grey there's a good chance they wouldn't charge anything.

There are a few colors you're actually allowed to refinish the wheels in and BMW will not have an issue with it on lease return.

Black wheels are shit tho, you can't ever see the design of the wheel.

Thanks,
If they are charging you, why would they charge anything less than the replacement cost for new wheels?

Exactly. A full refinish isn't cheap and doesn't usually hold up as well as the OEM finish. I doubt they'd even consider it and would charge for new wheels if they have any intentions of certifying it when they resell.

considering my local bmw has my wheels in black (for sale) I would imagine there wouldn't be much issue. if you painted them pink for example they will probably charge you to replace/refinish.

I lease and had mine black plasti-dipped, plus gloss. They look practically identical to having them powder-coated because the place did a good job. $150 - well worth it. If the dealer gives me a hard time I just take it off with some elbow grease. 6 months on the car now - no issues!

(didn't want to spend the money powder coating for just a lease!)
