Exclamation 428i Front Fenders Scorching Hot

I have done a little research on the net, and seems like all BMW sedans have this. Where running the car for a few minutes will heat the front fenders up to a to where you can only touch them for a few seconds.

Has anyone had a longterm report on this, does it affect the paint etc over time?

I've never noticed this on our previous F30 or on our current F36. I'll have to pay attention, but I feel like I would have noticed. Maybe if others confirm it is abnormal, you should take to dealer.

For obvious reasons, our i3 doesn't have this issue.

I can't recall ever touching the front fenders of my car after driving it, but I know for a fact that starting the car and letting it sit didn't melt any of the snow or ice on the front fenders during the past 2 storms I've had.

Hmmm I wonder if its the daytime driving lights? Going to do some tests this week and let you guys know. The left side fender (side where the coolant bottle) seems to get a lot hotter than the right one.
