Nice cars, guys.
You're right about Archie's photos. I say that since Archie does such a professional job photographing his car, we should convince him to come and photograph our cars for us. Whaddya say, Archie? You game? After all, you are the man. |

Who's Archie ? If you mean me, (that could be a very humiliating assumption), then I'd be happy to oblige. Once I get down from The Highlands to Edinburgh, which way do I need to go to get to Ohio ?

Allan!!! Sorry. Nothing like getting senile in my old age.
Actually, if I could, I would bring my car to you. I would love to see the Highlands. When I was in the navy, I was aboard a submarine out of Holy Loch, which has since been closed. I've been to Glasgow and Edinburgh, but that was a wee time ago, I'm afraid. Never made it beyond Edinburgh. Speaking of Holy Loch, I had a funny thing happen you might get a kick out of. While on vacation in Florida back in the late '90s, we were able to take a one day cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale to Freeport, Bahamas. For lunch, we sat at a large round table, there were probably 10 of us at the table. One couple I noticed spoke with a Scottish accent, so I asked them where they were from. Lo and behold, they were from Dunoon, the closest good size town near Holy Loch. One of the first thing I would do when I arrived in Holy Loch was to take a cab to Dunoon for some terrific fish and chips. So imagine my surprise when the couple said they were from Dunoon. What's that old saying? "It's a small world?" |

No problem Mark, I've been called an awful lot worse than 'Archie' in my time !
Nice to hear your story about the couple from Dunoon and yes it really a small world and getting smaller. A couple of years ago my wife and I were walking along a near deserted beach in New Zealand and met an English couple walking in the opposite direction. We stopped to talk, as you do, and it turned out that they lived in the same small Yorkshire village as my sister and they knew both her and my brother in law ! Fish and chips . . . I love them ! I'll have to try your 'chippie' in Dunoon.
