If you ordered it with the OBD harness then its 100% plug and play.

Is the EWG connector required for the JB4 or is it only for those people who really plan on doing major upgrades in the future and want the added benefits, because I only plan on doing exhaust and intake for now and maybe downpipe at a later time.

The EWG harness is not required. You should be fine without it. If you have a 2014+ then make sure you are running the EWG board.

Semi pointless. You won't feel a significant difference. Gotta get the downpipe an then a JB4 or a some kind of ECU tune.

The JB will override the ppk, but you will still have the burble. Basically they don't stack.

JB4 installed

Got my JB4 last week from Mike@N54Tuning.com and it was a 2 day delivery. he answered all 134 of my questions quickly and promptly.

The install took me and my brother about 2 hours. We are not very handy and the PDF was not as clear as i would have liked but it wasn't bad at all. The system was 100% plug and play which was nice as i wasnt hot about cutting wires on these expensive cars.

After driving it for a few days the improvement is well worth the cost. The car pulls much harder and seems to just rocket in sport mode. The JB4 is the only upgrade i have done and i am very happy with it. I would call it a must for any 4 or 3 series owner. My GF has a 328i and now she wants one for her car :-/.

Thanks again Mike and i will be getting with you for more parts in the future.

Typical JB4 install is about 30 minutes, usually a little longer first time around since folks aren't familiar with where everything is.

The JB4 would supersede the PPK, and when you go back to stock or map0 then your stock baseline would be the PPK.

IF youput Jb4 on map 0, it will be PPK
all other maps will be JB4 boost

Are you planning on adding downpipes and other mods to the car?

For noticeable power increase over the PPk, i recommend you do DP and JB4

Mike@x-ph.com and mike@n54tuning.com I have the JB4 and it's fantastic. Thinking about an air intake. Couple questions. What kind of increase can I reasonably expect and also I have heard people having issues with the Burger intake for the N55 engine. Are these all cleared up? If not, what's a good problem free intake?

Thanks

If you have a JB4 then you have nothing to worry about with the intake as its designed with the JB4 in mind. The issues a small minority of people have with the intake is on stock applications. Some cars just don't like the intake and sometimes the sensor isn't seated properly causing idle issues. Every intake for the N55 is prone to some issues in some cars. Its due to sensor placement and air flow. Some cars are very sensitive.

In terms of gains, they are about 10 hp/tq across the power band. The higher HP your car has the more gains the intake will produce.

As Mike said, these problems happen mostly on stock cars and even then it is rare when intake is installed correctly.

Power increase is not huge but the sound upgrade is definitely worth it

Do you have any in-car vids that capture the sound these intakes give?
