Went to check out the F31 touring today

So here is the story. I went to CIAS to check out the 328i xDrive touring earlier today. They had a modern line on display and it is a beautiful car inside and out. Talked to several sale reps from different dealers in GTA, and most of them confirmed that only modern line and m sport will be available in Canada (some say BMW Canada is still sorting this out). The only thing that kinda bugs me is that no 335i touring (which I would buy in a heart beat) will be sold here, as they said it's the 3er GT which will offer both space and N55 power. Also, the touring should show up at dealers in April, followed by the GT in late summery/early fall.

Hi Franz. Here is what we are getting in Canada for the 2014 model year. I received the same information as you about availability.

Weird. The 2013 model year US-spec F31 has the same Start of Production date of 03/13. But from what i heard, the EOP for the 2013 model is 06/13. The 2014 model year for the US has a SOP of 7/13.

Are there some marketing or other implications of different model year designations for the same vehicle with the same production run?
