Bluetooth disconnects on Call Waiting
On my 2014, lately when I get a call waiting call, the audio will automatically transfer to my phone and I have to rush to pick it up to continue the call. Any ideas? Using HtC One M8 with latest updates.. Thanks.

Does your M8 have Android 4.4.2?
Android 4.4.3 (or possibly 4.4.4.) is scheduled for to be pushed out for the M8 beginning tomorrow (on TMobile) and before end of August for other carriers. On the list of fixes for 4.4.3 are "multiple bluetooth fixes".

Yep. 4.4.2 and I have tmo. I'll look forward to the update and hopefully that fixes it. Hopefully the fix is on the phone side rather than car side. Thanks.

I have the same issue on my 2014 335: Call waiting causes audio to change to my handset.
I asked the dealer about it and they said they have had other complaints about it on iPhone and other platforms as well (I have a Samsung Galaxy S3). They did not have a fix for it nor indicate a great way to resolve it. Did you try the Android upgrade? I'm running 4.1.2 Cheers, Matt |

I'm on the latest 4.4.2 for my HTC One M8. No further upgrades available. I updated my car too a couple of months ago, so I think its running the latest as well.

My sister works at Tmobile so i'll ask about the update coming. As soon as i update, i'll let you know if it fixes it.
My fiance claims it doesn't have this issue in her X5 with her iPhone. I'll try her phone in my car and see if it does it. If so...we know it's a 3 series iDrive issue and I can nag the friendly folks we bought two cars from last week. stay tuned |

I took my car in for service and mentioned the issue. The service advisor said they tested it with iPhones and had no issues as i described. He deemed it an "Android problem" as a result.
He told me to go on to the BMW owners page to see what phones were supported...of course the GS3 is fully supported for Bluetooth including the call waiting feature...so that's no help. I will probably try a few of my family/friends phones to see if I can duplicate the issue on other platforms. I'll keep ya posted. The workaround I now use is to keep the phone handy, if a call comes in while talking, i get ready to press the "headset" button on my phone screen. once i turn that off and back on, it kicks the audio back to the BT system....lame and distracting but it works. |
