Advice Needed: Fixable?

15 mins ago i rear ended my car to a freaking bin, the damage was bigger than i thought,

first of all, i blame myself,
but i also blame the last second warning of my parking sensor
and the weak paintjob (note: this is a m-sport retrofit- not a factory job)
and my girlfriend for putting the bin in the driveway

as seen in the photos,
the pain is cracking
and the bumper has bent in 2 places

my question is:
can i fix this? through a body shop
or do i have to get a new bumper?

pics:

thanks guys

Hello mate,

I recently had a very similar issue with mine.

I got in touch with the Touch up guys, they repaired it and I would challenge anyone to see where it was fixed. It only cost me $220 to fix!

I would suggest getting it touch with those guys first, you will be surprised what they can do and the cost.

im less worried about the scratches/paint cracking, but more about the bent (?) deformed bumper

Not sure if the deformed/bent bumper can be fixed to perfection. Like all things plastic, once it's deformed, it's hard to get it back to straight. Whatever you decide to do, don't take it back to the shop that painted this bumper; they obviously didn't use any plasticizer in the the paint. Modern paints and techniques should eliminate any form of paint cracking/peeling on bumpers.

Paint shop likely did use flex additive in paint. If they didn't you'd have paint peeling off the flat part of bumper that deformed after the hit. Its more likely that edge either was not prepped correctly before spraying, the shop didn't use OEM paint or you just hit that corner too hard.

Short answer is you'll need a new bumper to fix to like new condition. If you are willing to settle for less, you may find someone who will heat the plastic and try to reshape it. I wish you luck with that.

You have PDC and say the sensors didn't warn you? Did you reuse sensors from your old bumper or did you order new for this retrofit? Sensors must be pre-painted by factory. Body shop painted sensors will not work properly.
