New F30! New to forum! 2015 328D

Hey everyone!
Finally made to move to BMW on my commuter car - 2015 328D.
I'm looking forward to learning more about the brand and options/upgrades.
Winter tires and rims are next!
The car will get tinted in 2 weeks.
Looking forward to learning!

New F30

Hey...I have a 2014 328d which I love. First thing I added were urethane clear lens protectors for headlamps and fog lights. I drive 25K miles / year and don't want my lenses frosted over by road grit.

But watch out for contaminated diesel. Last month I filled my tank at a usual grungy place I've gone to many times before, parked car at home for 10 days while traveling, upon my return first time I drove it the fuel destroyed my fuel system (car only had 7,200 miles on it)...so expensive I put it through my insurance....car since repaired and all's well now...but hope that never happens to anyone else.

Hey, Rich.... why would you take your BMW to a "grungy" place for fuel?

If you own a diesel car (I last drove a VW TDI to 190,000 miles) you get used to buying diesel at stations that look shabby. It's part of the charm of owning a diesel car---you get to fill up next to OTR tractor trailers. As long as they sell a lot of fuel and it doesn't sit in their tanks for long, then it's usually ok to use. And I bought diesel from this place many times over the years with no problems. Until now.

So no, I won't be going back there. Once burned, twice shy.

Welcome! For winter tires you will have different options if your car have M-sport brakes or not. Mine doesn't so I went with Nokian Hakkapellita 8 runflat (225/50R17) with stud on 17" BMW replica alloy wheel. The package is giving me incredible grip in pretty much every winter condition so far.

Does anyone know what the average selling cost is for a set of 18's with Continential run-flats?
Current mileage 700miles.

I've been looking around and prefer to go with a BMW OEM rim for a number of reasons but mostly since I travel quite a bit and want it to hold up to harsh Canadian Winters. I've decided on Blizzak's as I've had them in the past and love them!

I have insurance for "comprehensive" loss, which is damage caused to my car by all reasons except a collision. Since the diesel was bad and was the cause for the damage (as confirmed by the insurance co's appraiser), they agreed to cover my loss dollar for dollar. Except the $500. deductible which I had to pay.

Sorry to OP that this got off topic...

No worries. Interesting story. It would be nice if filling stations needed to publish ratings on fuel in a similar fashion to how restaurants need to show inspections and whether they pass health inspections and the specific grade they receive....

Hello all
My 2014 328d just turned 100,000 mile.
And still going strong. Runs like new. For those who have under 75,000 mile check your egr valve. There must be lots of carbon build up. There is clip on youtube how to clean your egr valve. If your egr valve get dirty you will get check engine light on your dash.
I replaced my thermostat and few valve couple days ago. $600... And i ask to mechanic to clean it for free. But im going to buy extra egr valve just in case for future use.

Hey I have the same luxury line rims and I see them selling for about $500 on the local classifieds.

I would keep them and put winter tires on them, thats what Im doing.

I converted my car which looked like yours to an M sport and went with the 400M rims in the end.
