They really should be. As I have said before the ONLY place to buy Akrapovic in Sweden is at your BMW dealer, I asked about getting one from another reseller of Akrapovic but he couldn't sell me one since BMW are the only ones allowed to sell he BMW systems in Sweden. And all cars 1M, M3, M5 and M6 are under full warranty with Akrapovic. Akrapovic even makes the M Performance exhaust for the M5/6.

Listen to the sound files on the Akrapovic website comparing the F30 Evolution exhaust back to back with the stock. While it does sound very good, it really isn't a dramatic change...the downshift sounds awesome though.

Sounds throatier for sure.

I'm only considering it, especially since my M performance exhaust is BUILT into my loan, because it's lighter and I could sell the MPE for $700-800 used.

I heard back from my dealer yesterday and it is about 3-6 weeks before I get my system now due to high demand for this specific exhaust...

Good things come to those who wait!

sound almost the same, but I can hear that the Akra breath more freely compare to the stock

Yes, it is not as loud as some of the other exhaust. And I think that is good as I use my car as a daily driver. More aggressive and sportier sound than the M Performance Exhaust, retains the stock valve and full warranty still from BMW. What more can you ask for (except a lower price )?

I've always loved the sound of the Challenge exhaust but I think I'm liking the Akra more... BUT you have to weight the cost/benefit/personal aspects. If I could get the Akra for $2k, I'd do it but I know that's not going to happen so Challenge it will probably be for me...

Lol, yea basically. Or an additional 50%, however you want to look at it. But those tips are sick. Who knows, I may get impulsive at some point.

Well, I went and ordered up the Akrapovic exhaust system. I live near Vancouver BC on the west coast of Canada. The price is US$3,170 plus taxes, shipping and installation. So it is going to be a $4k exhaust by the time its done. According to the dealer, they can get it in a week and a half so it will be early June when I expect to report back on my experience.

It is expensive but my M-sport is fully loaded and the MPPK really made a difference. It has all of the power I want so a nice exhaust when standing on it will just be the icing on the cake. Akra suggests about a 7HP gain which is about the same as the M-performance exhaust. However, the quality of the Akra cat back exhaust is miles ahead of the M-performance exhaust. I intend to keep the car for about 5 to 7 years so I will get my fun out of the money spent. Better to put the money into the car when new and maximize the fun over the years.

Anyway, I am rather excited to see how this turns out.
