Car Ordered

My 2014 335d has been returned as I was made redundant, today I put the deposit down on my new 335d M Sport, Black Saphire with red interior (was going to go for Superman but my old car was in EBII and just wanted a change) I have told them I want to take delivery on Sept 1st and they said they should be able to hold off placing the order for 2 month and with a bit of luck may get an LCI car

Congrats on the order - but isn't it a bit ridiculous that you can't say you only want the LCI, and that they shouldn't submit the order to BMW until such point as the LCI is in production.

The dealer contribution I have got towards the car is very good, I need the car for Sept 1st and they said they will try to order LCI if they can if it will be on time and at the same discount.

Not really, it would mean no car manufacturer would be able to shift stick 6-3 months from update model.

It's always a bit of a buggers muddle when cars are getting updated.

I can see that, and as the OP is getting a decent discount then fair enough, but if I was paying anywhere near list I'd expect to be able to decide what car I got!

As we all know there are big discounts to be had on the '3' which I assume have grown as the LCI has got nearer, and will maybe lower once it's released, which is BMWs way of shifting the cars pre-LCI to happy customers (in receipt of this discount) while increasing profit on the newer facelift model.

You can specify ordering an LCI, just the timings can be hard to judge.

When I looked at the 1 series, I could order either pre LCI or LCI.

However, the spec / pricing needs to be on the system.

That's what I was thinking, but now I can see - as the LCI isn't officially listed or priced / specced yet, where the OPs 'problem' is. Makes a lot more sense to me now as to why they can't guarantee him a specific 'version'. However, and I don't know if this is the case with the OP, I'd be tempted to say anytime AFTER the 1st Sept as long as it is the LCI.

They have said they will try to get LCI if they can, but do I still want LCI if the dealer discount is not as much? I said id rather have the discount!

what makes you to order the same car apart from color? Didn't you want to change f.ex for petrol or maybe 330?

To be honest we loved the car, good economy and performance, its only due to a forced job move (Redundancy) that the car has gone. My new job comes with an Audi A4 Avant Black Edition and the wife's SLK is due to go back in Sept. So the 335d will be replacing the SLK.
