Pandora Question

What's the right sequence for hooking up via USB to listen to Pandora?

When I connect my iPhone via USB, Pandora doesn't show up as a Connected Drive app until I first start it on the phone. Once I do that, it shows up, and all is well. But I was trying to figure out if there is a way to avoid starting it on the phone first.

Thanks.

Nope, that's the way it works. Connect to USB, launch Pandora (or any ConnectedDrive app), then go into iDrive ConnectedDrive menu.

So, you can control Pandora through the USB connection with ConnectedDrive Apps? You do not have to use the Plugin adaptor?

Correct. Simply connecting the iPhone via USB cable, you get full Apps functionality of Pandora, i.e. thumbs up/down, change station, etc., all via iDrive interface.

Switch to iPhone?

Okay, so I an Android 4. It connects flawlessly for bluetooth calls and contacts. However, as I have heard on this forum, iPhones are needed to use BMW Apps. So, if I go to the trouble of switching to an iPhone, is BMW apps up to date with iPhone 5's OS 6?

And can I see messages? If not, can anybody see emails messages? Which phone does it work with?

Actually, this sounds promising, as my Droid 4 may get this upgrade in the not too distant future.

For those of you willing to jailbreak your iPhone, the BTNotificationEnabler in Cydia will allow your email to flow to iDrive.

Do your emails show up as emails or texts?

Can you stream Pandora over bluetooth instead? If so, can you control it through iDrive, or only on the phone?

Yes, Pandora can stream via BT. In Pandora options set to use BT Headset (at least that's how it shows on my BB9900).

I use the phone to control Pandora. The only thing that may work is FF.

They show up as texts, a flaw I can live with for now... I just hope Apple properly activates this feature before the new iPhone comes out and I lose my jailbreak.
