I know the guys on the E9X platform have this figured out but what about us? I want to run 17 inch Kosei K1 paired with MT ET Streets but haven't seen anybody do it. Can anybody guide me on the right direction, like how tall of a tire we can fit on the F30 mounted on 17s. I was thinking 275/45/17

Why would you want a tall tire? A lower profile tire will gear the car down and help launching. Check out BFG Drag Radials as well. 275/40/17s are common size. Not sure if they'll fit what your'e looking at.......

How much power are you putting down that you need drag radials?

TDIwyse is running Hoosier DOT Drag Radials in 245/45R17 on his E90 335d (TDIwyse has run 11.8 in his heavily modified 'd). Wider isn't necessarily better for drag radials... The analog for an F30 would be 245/50R17; note that 245/45R17 is oversize (taller) than stock for an E9x, and so the 245/50 would also be taller than stock for an F30.

Just a thought. Stacked tuned JB4/COBB all else stock 335is 7DCT were running 11.8 on the OEM run flats. FBO cars running NITTO 555R were low 11's.

Not really sure a high 11 low 12 second car benefits that much from drag radials over a high traction street tire like Michelin PSS or its new replacement.

The BMW rear ends & drive lines are not all that strong with stock components.

Nothing against the radials I run NITTO 555R 255X40X17 front & 315X35X17 rear in the 2 seater but its a totally different application than any of my BMW'S

...
The real problem is that his diesel is running like 600+ ft-lbs while running 400+ hp. Hard to hook up, even starting in 2nd gear with the 6hp26 auto.
