As Dealers don’t have ability to code, wonder if OP has looked at this value in coding? It should be reset after DME update, but perhaps new firmware has bad value.

Does the Passenger and Driver seats have separate settings?

No just one option on the app on the main menu you hit > seat module driver > save seat heating/cooling/massage setting after shutdown > then from there you have the options of 15 minutes, 24 hours, do not save, Infinite

So he could turn it off then try a different value to see if that fixes the issue

So to clarify, the “driver” setting controls both “driver” and “passenger” seat?

OP stated Passenger Seat works as expected.

LOL! Hell, I'm lucky if I hit 45 during my commute! This is why I sometimes take the "long" way which is double the amount of miles all in sport haha. It truly is a Jekyll and Hyde car Unfortunately, it just eliminates the rest of the speedo so only half is filled, depending on the setting. For example - https://1drv.ms/u/s!AkHKmnTUFIO1g8IuxXeG0Z-VI5bafQ

They just replaced the battery claiming that that was the problem, but it hasn't corrected matters. - I searched through the manual and found out that this is actually a feature once I noticed that the driver and passenger sides were operating differently. I agree with everyone that it's not tough to just push a button, but when BMW has a feature that they say should work, and then backs it with their warranty, of course I want them to fix it.

The only sad thing is I bought snow tires and wheels from two other forum members, but have only had the car in the snow three times :-(

Thanks for the helpful comments and observations!

No idea, just looking on the app to see what's possible to be coded via the app, it's not connected to the car. That's what it's under on there. I'll play around with it after work if it stops raining and report back

It's supposed to rain on and off for the next 3-4 days....right after our short lived heat wave at that!

This is actually programmable with Carly, separate settings for every heated seat. I have drivers seat seat set to 24 hours.

Then that setting should be looked at in OPs car to find value.

The seats do have ECUs, have they replaced any of those?

Thanks for the idea. - I've been holding off on doing any coding since I didn't want to interfere with the warranty. I did just try it now, but no change took place. The passenger seat still comes back on, but the driver seat heater does not. This is of course when both were switched on before turning the car off.

- Thanks again

Absolutely. If they say something should work a certain way, if we spend 50k+ on a car.. it better work! Or even a 15k car at that.

Thanks for looking that up. Yes, it looks like they replaced nearly every module in the car related to the heater, the put in a new seat heater, and a new battery.

Modules:
61 35 6 993 303 : B1RR-Seat Module
61 35 7 490 465 : B1BIMIRRZN-Seat Module
64 11 9 311 850 : B1 Control Unit F
61 11 9 287 341 : B1-Control Unit
61 35 8 707 674 : B1-Control Unit
61 21 2 353 812 : Battery

If I get this resolved I'll post soon ... hopefully.

Eight weeks?!?!?!?!?

Holy cow! When the MPPSK exhaust valve servo failed on my new 440i and it took them a week to get a new exhaust system from Germany, I made them give me the car back for a week until the new one arrived... and the thing was rattling more than a Ducati dry clutch. No way I would be without my car for two months over the seat heat shutting down when I turned off the ignition.
