I'm on IOS 7.1.1, Iphone 5s and I updated to the latest software in the car, UPD05021.

I can get emails and texts through office but I can't reply to them.

On the previous car software it would let me go through the motions of replying, dictating the text etc, but just wouldn't actually send anything.

Now on the latest software the reply icon is greyed out.

Has anyone got this working to view messages and reply?

No way to reply to email or SMS. And as someone else mentioned, email shows up as a SMS initially. But then stops working until you mess with email settings each time.

I have found that with an Android phone, creating SMS and emails works great with DragonDrive. It would be nice if they just spent time fixing all this.

That sucks. It could be a great system but it's pretty useless as it is. Unless you're on Android it seems. I discovered today that you can only see the first page of an email while driving. You have to be stopped to scroll to the next page.

Actually, dont get too much into a 'works on android' boat... I have an android and emails dont work. Full stop.

Blackberry on the other hand seems to work well (from what I pick up on other forums).

Basically, in a nutshell, iDRIVE and emails JUST DONT WORK.

Yeah only certain things work on Android. For instance, I can't even get music streaming/control from iDrive to work with Android. Plus neither of the Android apps "Remote" or "Connected" work for me...in fact they hosed the USB interface in the car and it wouldn't detect any phone until I shut off the car for several minutes. I wonder, do, like, Hondas have this much trouble with phone integration?!?

As much as it's frustrating, I'm never really going to email while driving, nor do I care to read them. I get so much annoying spam with bit maps anyway. But SMS, yes, having it read out and being able to dictate is what I want.

Yeah, guess I should forget about it, not going to miss what I never had etc. Ironically I got rid of a blackberry a couple of months ago.

Music streaming over BT works, and the remote app, and they're probably more useful than emails so I should be thankful I suppose.

Seems like I have a good setup then.
BlackBerry Z10 for mails, SMS and BT music, Ipod Touch for BMW Apps using the BB hotspot.

Would a snap in cradle for the Ipod add any functionality, or just the USB cable does the job ?

I have the same exact setup, and it works, but the reality is the Office function pretty much sucks. It's like looking at an MS-DOS screen from 30 years ago. No color. No HTML. No support for images or attachments. I assume this is due to limitations with the Bluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP) it uses, but whatever the reason, it renders the Office function useless. I end up just using my phone, and not the iDrive. The internet on iDrive is also completely useless too, but I digress...

I also have the BMW Connected Drive App side-loaded on my Z10. I wish there was a cable for it like there is for the iPhone, as that would be a whole lot better than using the Z10's hotspot and an iPod.

I cant remember the exact lines you need to change but this can be coded so that you can read the entire email whilst on the move.

The options allowed you to change from reading a single page to all of email.

So this feature was a real curious one for me. I will be driving a LOT for work. I'm looking at current 335s MY2015. Can anyone comment?

Is this working for the most recent F30s?

You need to pay for the $500 6NS option to have BMW Office.

Considering new 320D purchase - pls. excuse ignorance.

Does the Bluetooth MAP feature require Professional Media do you know? Or is this available for Business Media users?

It's always worked fine on BB.

All BlackBerrys will be running Android in the future, if they even continue to make devices, which they might not.

This. I have office and email works however I can't get the dictation to work, messages don't work and a lot of it is shaky. BMW can't help, Nuance can't help, I've given up on it.

I asked specifically when ordering what this option would give apart from a phone holder in the arm rest...was told that was it. I have a VERY high spec car as this is a long term keeper for us so would have happily paid for it had I known how limiting it would be. The 650i has enhanced BT which is a stupid phone holder that takes up the entire centre armrest, hence why I didn't want it in the new car.
