Don't like their cars and hate their sh!tty dealers.
BMW all the way if you go Premium, though Mercedes and Audi are catching up.

If in London, go to Berry Chiswick on the A4 where TRL works. Superb dealership and brilliant Service Dept. Can't fault the latter.

I had this in Audi...chelmsford... The one in the news with the guy that parked his car with writing all over it in front of the dealership to get it sorted!

Anyway, this was an old school case of ageism. Asked for a test drive, it happened...however I was told it was the 1.8 turbo and ofcourse I'll be likely to be looking at the 1.4 wouldnt I?

Oh and the 'it takes 4 days to get a quote from our system' - well get a new system then, I want one now.

Oh and I drive a 2.0litre turbo and 3.0lite bi turbo? Sorry ofcourse a 1.4 is too fast for little young immature me!

ANDDDDDD

Had it in Land Rover...had to ask 4 people for help before I asked about a tow bar to tow our trailers as we have horses...then they were interested.

Some salesman and even dealerships judge books by their covers. I hate it. That's why when you get gems and cracking people like Riaz and TRL you hold on to them like bloody glue.

Rant over. Apologies for going off on one OP!

First time I went here I had just moved back to the UK and could not buy a BMW soon enough. My other half and I went for a look at a couple of 320D's and I swear the salesman spent about 10 minutes telling us how good Audis were.

More recently I was there getting my 5 series serviced (if I didnt have the service pack I'd have gone elsewhere) and while there I found myself looking at a rather nice 330d xdrive touring, which was almost new. I spoke to the salesman and he offered me the best part of 20k for mine if I traded in, but he didnt quite make the deal sweet enough so I left and told him if he could make the offer any more attractive to let me know. He emailed me later that day and said that actually he would only be prepared to offer me 17k for mine, but if I still was interested to let him know.

I will never go back.

I have always used Harry Fairbairn as their deals are better and they have more stock but douglas park have always been good to me while I enquired. Very proactive sales team which i like but they can never match/beat HF

There's nothing wrong with their service department, its the sales department. Main reason I went though is sheer convenience as its the closest garage to my house

I bought my last car from John Clark BMW in Dundee who were a dream to deal with.

No experience with Harry Fairbairn, and to be fair to Douglas Park I've heard good stories about people dealing with their branch in Hamilton. However, twice bitten thrice very shy indeed as the saying would probably go if someone else extrapolated it.

Thats one of the reasons i use HF too. However, i haven't been too impressed with their service department so I'm thinking of using douglas park instead when it comes to servicing! HF are awful with the F20 but amazing with the 5 series (E60&F10) when it comes to servicing

Whereas for last few years had no problems with Park Lane and been treated very well, even get a chat n decent coffee when in town.

Although admittedly I deal with a separate bit in Park Lane.

Regarding Jaguar, it seems to be common within their dealerships, Stratsone is my local one and I totally refuse to cross their threshold, even though it's pretty much walking distance from work.

Probably what annoyed me most was I only popped in to confirm my test drive and have a decent look over an XE.

That alone should show to the most dim witted salesman that someone is interested and not just window shopping.

Then their confusion that it was personal sale and not business and to further add confusion I was interested in a 3.0 petrol and NOT a diesel.

Wife still says I can't have an F-Type even if I buy the dog a leather helmet and goggles lol.

Thumbs up for Stratstone Hull. I'm 22, look about 12, and they took me completely seriously when I was after a F32.

Good job you didn't get to asking for a discount, you would have been dealt with pulp fiction style for being so cheeky

Did you try Lookers in Northallerton, found them reasonable in the past.
