Anyone care to give me a valuation on this 13' F30 demo?
I'm interested in this but the dealership won't budge off of $50,600
Car is a demo, so it's technically new, but has about 4800 miles on it. I figure with the 14's available they would be willing to deal. Thoughts ? What's a 'good deal' on this end of year model? http://www.cooperbmw.com/2013-BMW-33...OK/vd/12593396 |

If you have no other credits to apply (loyalty, UDE, USAA), you should be looking at $3k under the invoice for this car or even better, imho. Some people would not pay even that for a demo, because it never had a proper break-in period. You should not have a problem finding MY13 $2k under invoice brand-new. |

MY13, 4500 miles already on it. That is a terrible price, total rip off if you ask me!
See the build date and when the car came out on the road. Calculate how much warranty YOU will get, pretty sure it will not be 4 years. You should never buy a demo car, if you are leasing I do not know how this would work out. Looks like the car has already depreciated quite a bit. Not sure if the same BMWFS lease rates would apply to it as it will not qualify being new. Plus for selling price, I am taking a wild guess, anything between $3000- $7000 below invoice 'before' incentives are applied, is feasible. Maybe a lot more. Look up some other threads on the E90 subsection on demo cars. You should be able to get a stellar deal on a demo. Again if you are buying, and this is a demo, not worth the price saving if it is not a superb deal. UPDATE: Some googling gave me a bit of Carfax history if you haven't seen already. Seems like its approaching YEAR 1 completion pretty soon. ..

I'm with bavarianboar, find another car or get 2014. This deal does not make sense!
I may suggest go outside of your area or even state, sometimes a couple hundred miles drive can save you $1000s. Deal with with internet managers directly. On the other hand, if you plan to buy it, get at least another $1k down and ask them to extend the warranty to 7y/100,000, basically make it CPO, it's a used car anyway (demo, just a fancy name for it, so they can talk MSRP as opposed to resale value) Last edited by 328AL; 09-07-2013 at 09:27 PM.. |

Wow! Thank all of you guys for the insight!
I'm going to keep digging around and find a better deal. The warranty is important to me and I thought it started from 'purchase' date not production date, is that true? |

Yes and no; time starts from your purchase from a dealer (4 years), mileage from a production day (50k). Resale value from a production date as well.

If the car is a demo the warranty starts the day the car goes into demo. I know this because I was going to use the car I ordered as a demo model. I asked my dealer this very question. I decided against it because the warranty starting. I also thought about other people driving my car like insane maniacs during the break in period. It wasn't worth it for me.
