Sorry Scott, been away for a few days. Will hopefully get an update tomorrow. So far I managed £340 supply only for exhaust and black grills

The best I can get for the exhaust and diffuser is £269.00 inc vat supply only. I know a BMW technician who is happy to fit it for a drink. Still seems quite pricey

Estoril, I notice your in based in Cambs. Is the dealer Elms? Fitting the pipe looks easy, I just someone to fit a 328i/330d rear diffuser but from what I've seen it just clips that hold it in place. My supplying dealer has no idea about the diffuser part, they suggested I buy an entire rear bumper and diffuser!!!

The parts you need are:

Rear Diffuser - 51128054198 - £68
Twin Exhaust - 18302296889 - £239

You can easily get 10% off those prices by just asking for it or quote this 10% off with Sytner link: http://corporate.sytner.co.uk/sytner/maintenance/ and ask them to match.

I've had the parts ordered and are being fitted when they are doing the PDI work etc. I took another look at the 320d single pipe and I just hated the look of it, the M Sport aero kit looks awesome but why the garden hose exhaust?

Also my insurance company have told me they only consider something to be a modification if it was done 'after the customer has taken delivery', anything done by the manufacturer or dealer doesn't count as long as it's BMW approved addon.

Thanks...mine is getting fitted on Friday as the car has arrived. £320 supplied and fitted for the diffuser and the tailpipe. Agree it's the only thing I don't like about the loaner m sport I'm driving around in just now.

Good to know about the insurance side of things.

Cheers

The single tailpipe is probably one of the very few things I'm not keen on with mine. £239 for a piece of 'trim' is crazy though - I'll be speaking to my local stainless steel exhaust guy - for that price he'd be able to make me an entire custom back box! Think a new tailpipe trim should be waaaay less than that.

Indeed probably cheaper options out there..was easier for me to get it all done before delivery.

Has anyone fitted these to a F31 320D M Sport Touring?

I looked under the back yesterday, and the tailpipe comes directly from the rear silencer and curves round to the part that sticks out of the rear valence.

Look at the twin pipe you are refering to on REAL OEM, it would appear that the twin pipe clamps on to the existing pipe somewhere?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My dealer says I should have my touring this Friday with the twin pipes and new diffuser fitted. As you have stated they will cut away part of the tailpipe and clamp on the twin pipes.

For those without the M Sport pack you will have to buy an additional part which needs to painted, so to hide where they have made the cut.

Just had a quote for total Parts at £255.14 + Vat and fitting £25.00 + Vat from Scotthall Milton Keynes.

BUT........."Twin Exhaust Trim– 18302296889 is on a World Wide Back Order – roughly 4/5weeks before we see the part"

4/5 weeks back order! I ordered mine 8 days ago and the dealer received them 4 days later. Ring up another dealer.

Strange, I just checked with Coopers and they said it is on back order as well. None available in Germany either.

Perhaps you had the last one. :-)

Usually a "modification" is anything that is done to the car after its left the factory (i.e. not a factory-fitted option), including anything fitted by the dealer, that's how Elephant and others I've been with consider it.

If what you're saying is right, then your dealer could do e.g. a Performance engine remap (like on the old 335/135i) etc. to increase the BHP/performance, and your insurance company wouldn't charge you for it/have to be informed, which obviously wouldn't be the case...

What they're saying may be true in the case of your specific insurance company, but just make sure you get that in writing from them to avoid any future issues
