Thumbs up Anyone else as excited about the M Sport steering wheel as I am?

Seriously. This is the sexiest and most perfectly built steering wheel I have ever laid eyes on. I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but it's largely responsible for making me get an F30. I saw the interior on the other lines of the F30 and wasn't all that impressed. Then I saw the M Sport line and this steering wheel and almost wet my pants. It reeled me in to learn more and discover more and was the catalyst that got me hooked on buying an F30.

I don't know why I'm so excited about a damn steering wheel, but I'm just attracted to this thing in some unusual way. The look, the feel, the perfect placement and icons of the buttons (almost every steering wheel is overwhelmed with buttons, but this one is absolutely perfect), etc. This is the steering wheel that Apple would of built if they built a steering wheel. It's perfect in every way (no flamers are allowed to come in this thread and say otherwise! Let me enjoy this moment!).

It might be hard to believe, but BMW is selling more cars just because of this steering wheel if my own attraction is any indication.

Hey everyone has their own fetishes. I like T&A, you like steering wheels.

It would be nicer if the steering wheel was attached to an M3 though.

OK, OK, two things that would make it even better:

1. If it had a #1 and #2 customizable button where it currently has the two empty slots on the cruise control side.

2. If it had the colored stitching to match the leather interior like this steering wheel comes with on the M6.

Hmmm... I wonder if I could buy the M6 wheel with those different style paddles and then custom code the M1 and M2 buttons to whatever function I'd like.

You should be getting someone who posts a comparison to the steering wheel of a certain new model retro iconic American car.

I had a past iteration of the american car once upon a time, so I am cool with it!

M sport steering wheels looks 10x better than the base or sport wheel imo.

Nope. The Ford Mustang's steering wheel is nothing as nice as this. Looks somewhat similar, but it's in the details that BMW's shines.

Here's the M6 version of it. As far as I can tell the differences are (1) M1 and M2 buttons by cruise control (2) Colored stitching (3) Slightly different bottom center trim piece (4) Slightly different style paddles

Some more steering wheel porn...

Not ready for depends because of it but I wish it was an option separate from m sport pack. For me the back end of the car on m sport kills whatever I would gain lusting for the steering wheel I hope somewhere down the road I can fit that wheel to my sport line. 335

Also m6 wheel should be a easy swap for a f30 m sport.

That's why I'm planning changing the rear bumper on mine. The rear bumper is way cheaper than the steering wheel and airbag.

That's what I'm thinking! The airbag is the same so it might be an inexpensive swap. Might do it.

This steering wheel really is sexy I wasn't crazy about it at first, but my inner german design lover has taken over and this really is a solid and timeless piece of craftsmanship.

It's a great looking steering wheel. I have photos of the entire 328i M-Sport EB cycling on my laptop - outside and inside, so I am used to seeing the steering wheel very often - and all other parts of the car as well.

I just want MY car ASAP - steering wheels and all.

Coming from a late model M3.. yes, absolutely. I know what you're feeling.

It literally makes or breaks the entire driving experience.

Can't wait to wrap my hands around it for the first time!!

Ah, I'm not alone in seeing that the rear end of the Msport is not so great.
In profile the Msport rear seems a bit too extended.
The front looks great, the rear doesn't match up as well.
I'm sure it'll grow on me, not literally I hope.

Luckily I won't be looking at the rear of my Msport.
That view will be for all the slower cars out there. Hope they like it.

I hope it's as thick as my 135i M wheel.
The regular sport line wheel is nice looking, but it just felt too thin.
It's not a proper "sport" line wheel
The M wheel should have been a stand alone option, or an option for the sport line to differentiate more from the "lux" and "modern" lines.

We enthusiasts sure are a picky lot.

Tell us how that goes. Probably gonna be a super expensive swap ($1000+) because the airbag is different I believe.

Indeed!

I put the E90 M3 steering wheel on my E90 330i before the E90 M3 even came out and it was absolutely delightful. Loved the feel of that wheel and I'm sure this one will fill just as good, if not better.
