Advice on how to correct paint damage
So NYC parking finally took its toll on my front bumper. I'm looking for suggestions on what can be done to make this look better besides repainting the bumper.
I am thinking of filling in the crack, wet sanding, painting using either touch up paint or dr. colorchip (anyone recommend it?), wet standing again, compound, polish, and finally waxing. Can anyone recommend an alternative? I know it won't be perfect, but it will suffice. P.S. ignore the holes in the bumper. I took the license plate frame off to see the damage. It will be put back on. |

You've got the right idea. 3M makes a product specifically for filling cracks and holes in plastic bumpers. When you're done get one of these, a must for parking on city streets:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I assume you already have one of the big ass bumper protectors that hang from the trunk on the back. |

You can't use Dr. Colorchip for a major repair like this. It's just for paint chips and road rash. You'll need to get your bumper sprayed after you repair the defects and sand if you want it to look good.
