The SMH Drive article claims the specs/prices apply to the updated 3-Series range due mid year (aka LCI or mid-cycle refresh models)...

oh ok i am lost in that case.. I thought innovations was only available upto march 2014 builds and then it was high-line or what ever they are calling it now.

It is a October 14 build, with Jan 2015 delivery. It definitely doesn't have DAB, and I don't think it has adaptive suspension, although I can select chassis and suspension settings when customizing sport, sport +

Loving it so far. I lost about 230kw from my previous car, but I'm enjoying the refinement.

...That's the way it is...the prices and included options are always shifting through the lifecycle. If you kept waiting to get the best possible deal you would be buying a car just as it gets superseded by the all new model in 2019!

well the article is confusing... its merged a simple bmw price and options change with the 3 series lci which is wrong.
example from article - BMW's updated 3-Series sports the same appearance and engine choices as before, but with added specification.
However the appearance is going to change.. there will be led lights same as the m3 offered as a option etc etc.. plus the model designations are going to change with the facelift as there is going to be a 340i offered with a uprated 335i engine.

True..it is very confusing.
However, I think that the 3 series LCI is separate to the new engine rollouts.

for people who interested:
M sports 328i : 77942 base price

options i am interested:

tyre pressure monitor 550
variable sport steering 400
alarm system 1000
glass sunroof 2920
sun protection glazing 800
active cruise control with stop&go 1600
parking assistant 675
real time traffic information 250
extended smartphone connectivity 500
harman sound 1900
metallic paint 1840

so it came up to a bit over 90k in RRP for a 328i. this is the new 3 series with added standard options. like HUD etc. I guess i will go back to lexus

Did they give you an eta for the new models?

Standard is pretty loaded already. If you can get a standard 15% off then that would be $66,250 for the base with all new extras and add whatever else you want/need.

For me I would probably be happy with the new standard options with addition of a sunroof. But the following would be nice
tyre pressure monitor 550 (can't believe this isn't standard on a car like this)
variable sport steering 400
active cruise control with stop&go 1600
parking assistant 675
real time traffic information 250
extended smartphone connectivity 500

Even adding those would be in the low $70's which is what others have achieved before the update

Still trying to decide between this or an Audi S3 sedan fully loaded for similar money

That's way too much to pay for a 328i imo, you can get a grancoupe 428i for that price... just a example http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/de...16447885/?Cr=4
hk..tpms , connected drive etc on it. Also mot the s3 is a weapon.. very nice to drive.. no where near as civilized for daily driving as 328i though but all that can be forgiven depending on priorities. No electric seats was a big issue for me since I couldn't see myself buying it without the performance pack... only other thing it probably lacks is a hud but then that bang and olufsen is amazingggggg.

I don't think that is true because evil bought one above Oct 2014 build and does not have Dab or adaptive m suspension...

my F31 RRP was over 90k when it was new to Australia in Mid 2013. I have similar wish list except back then connected drive wasn't available.

tyre pressure monitor 550 <- isn't it standard, at least my MY13.5 F31 328 came with tyre pressure monitor

variable sport steering 400 <- get it if you really need it.

alarm system 1000 <- just making noise and a red light flashing at the rear mirror

glass sunroof 2920 <- wow didn't they jack up the price, i paid less for my panorama roof

sun protection glazing 800 <- get it in tint shop and do the paint protection

active cruise control with stop&go 1600 <-do you drive on the freeway a lot? optional

parking assistant 675 <- i assume it comes with surround view cameras and reverse semi-auto parking, ok if you have tight parking spots

real time traffic information 250 <-i trust my iphone google map

extended smartphone connectivity 500 <-must have for this

harman sound 1900 <- i have the H/K sound, it's ok but not spectacular and my version at least (not sure the current ones), there are no presets, just tick the L7 surround sound and manually adjust different settings (you need a degree to fine tune with the kHz bars, ask the genius in BMW to show you how, sorry being a bit jerky)

metallic paint 1840 <-choose your colour

My opinion will include heated front seat and if you drive on highway a lot or without streetlight, get the adaptive lighting and auto high-beam. quite useful. I spent a bit on exterior lighting as i drove to country NSW for work a lot...

has anyone bought a 316i? there was dodgy dealer trying to sell me an m sport demo for retail and insisted it was "like a brand new car" and wasnt keen on moving on price, ie 66k. needless to say, I left.

how much do you guys reckon one could be had, just with the m sport option on it?

depends on the options on 316i...if it was fully loaded with hk/pronav/xenons/sunroof
here is a 2014 316i demo m sport for 50k http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/de...16766710/?Cr=9
The msport 316i does not even come with paddles going by this pic..

for 66k i would rather buy this

Got offered a 2013 build MY14 328i demo with the following
Metallic Paint
M-Sport
Adaptive M suspension
Sunroof
Pro nav
Bi-Xenons
for $55k but declined considering it is technically 2 years old now and a demo with options that are now standard (bar the sunroof but now you get innovations, dab+, connected drive etc standard also).

Seems like a decent deal (it was advertised well over $60k) and it would have been an amazing deal last year but it is a new year and considering you can get brand new with more options and warranty for not much more it is not really worth it...

Gotta love AMG. To be honest, the tricked up six in the M3 and M4 is not worth its price even at 150k. They should have just kept the eight and given it a hp and torque bump with a wicked exhaust. The AMG range maybe then might have had a bit more of a competition from M division, right now its just an onslaught.

Even i am considering the new C63 coupe that is supposed to be more potent then its sedan sibling.
