If you find the N20 noisy, I wonder which you compare it with. I agree the sound is not "sexy" at idle, but noisy it is not. Inside the car you can hardly hear it. When revving it, the sound inside the cabin is not bad at all. Most importantly, the drive is a blast Where I drive, it does not depend on how big the engine is, but weight and balance makes all the difference.

Noise level maybe my subjective opinion, I've had 2.0T in my A4 and it wasn't nearly as noisy.
One thing I absolutely hated, auto start-stop feature. I'm sure majority of people driving these cars can care less about extra 1mpg or not even that with that stupid feature. |

The ASS with manual isn't so bad. I still find it odd to have to be out of gear and foot off the clutch to activate the ASS. I learned manual to be in gear at red lights. The engine restarts quickly when I depress the clutch. By the time I depress the clutch and put the shifter into first gear the car has started and is ready to go.

And what is with speed, honestly I could care less whether inline 6 is slow or fast, it is my daily driver and grocery getter, has more than enough power to move around. I'd take NA inline 6 anytime over turbocharged 4banger, simply because it's a less complex engine and long term it's going to be more reliable (I tend to keep cars or at least 10yrs). Lastly I wasn't saying F30 is a bad car, I'd still drive it over other sedans, I simply think it's overpriced. And yes, start-stop thing is horrible, electro-assisted steering is super light, check out your cheap sun-visor in F30 you'll see what I mean by cheaper plastic...engine noise, started it up in 10F sounded like a TDI. |

FWIW I find the 328i to be more "noisy" than it should be. You don't really hear it inside with the windows up but outside it doesn't sound as "smooth" as say a Honda four-banger (or several other brands for that matter).
Maybe somebody will come up with a retro-install sound-deadening package? LOL |

This award might as well have been created by BMW marketing. It has both the word "luxury" and "life style" in it! Just the kind of award BMW wants to snatch up these days, I bet.
