I just joined this forum. Tons of great info on this site! I'm never going to get any work done!

I'm looking forward to my first BMW that I purchased through the BMW military purchase program. Great savings for deployed military members. The car is shipped from the manufacturer to the dealer without any dealer fees (just the standard $995 ship fee).

I won't take delivery until mid April 2016, but that's only because I wanted to avoid one bad season of weather in the Hampton Roads area.

2016 BMW 435i Coupe M Sport (Estoril Blue)

Tech Package
Cold Weather Package
Driver Assistance Package
Adaptive M Sport Suspension
19-in wheels (442M)

Total cost $53,745 (tax will be extra for tags in VA)

MSRP listed as $59,095

Yes, you'd want to take the highest amount of miles available for the lease - 15K and then you'd pay for anything over 45,000 miles prior to turn in at $0.16/mi. If you wait until turn-in, it's $0.20/mi. If you drive a lot, leasing may not be for you.

You got a good deal on a 2016. If you didn't, always get all your numbers finalized in writing and then mention the trade-in. . When you start driving the car, you'll forget about the $10/month. . Enjoy!

What are your thoughts?
My first thought is that a 340xi with these options should sticker for a lot more than $54,295, or is that the selling price they offer? That said, the elephant in the room is the Money Factor.

I am going to guess that you're looking at a selling price of $54,295 for a $59,595 build with a money factor of .00174. Selling price is excellent, but wiped by the spiked MF. Top tier MF is .00134 which is about $1.3K less over 36 months.
On the whole could still be decent as you're about $400 under invoice (with the $750 Option Credit included) so all-in-all about $900 over invoice. Is the doc/dealer fee included in the selling price?

Reducing cap cost with down payment is not a great idea as you could use MSDs instead. However, I don't think NY allows MSDs so you might want to inquire with a dealer in NJ as well.

I really appreciate your insight. Yes the selling price is 54,295, you are correct. So assuming I'm able to obtain a great mf u suggest I go the route of msds. Any idea what I would be looking at monthly?

That is hard to say not knowing what kind of fees are involved and what is and isn't rolled into the monthly payment.
Max MSD's of 7 brings down the MF by .00049 and will save you almost $1,7K over 36 months.
If your selling price doesn't include other incentives besides the Option Credit, you might find it hard to negotiate a better MF as they are using it to off-set the low selling price.

thanks! I really wanted xenons, but I also really wanted the tech package and driver assistance package (my wife will be driving this car too). I figure I'll retrofit the xenons on at some point.

Ah, you're right, I just looked at my paperwork again. I was looking at the net capitalized cost, not the sale price, which was actually 44,925. I'll edit the original to correct the error.

No offense, but you can do way better. You're only $1,000 off MSRP. Also, I'd double-check that residual as I believe September was 56%. It's possible it went down, though. Someone on here has probably posted the October residuals - search. You can also find them on the Edmunds forums under BMW leasing, but you'll need to search a bit as their forum layout is less than user friendly. Your MF is being marked up, as well. Lastly, as others have told you previously, never put money down on a lease. If I were you, I'd start over with another dealer as this one appears to have seen you coming from quite a distance.

Because in VA we have to pay the car sales tax on the purchase price of the vehicle (so $53,745 for you), are you going to pay it up front or are you going to roll it in? Sucks because its like $2k+

Have you calculated invoice pricing using Edmunds or NADA? On the 3-series, there's approximately 9% margin on the vehicle. You appear to be at 7%, so there's still some wiggle room for negotiation. What's included in the $2200 drive off? Also, your MF is being marked up - base is .00134. Keep at it!

What's invoice for your vehicle as spec'd? You're approximately 5% off MSRP, so I think there's more room for negotiation. What's the money factor? What else is getting rolled into the lease?
