Right production number, wrong car?!?!

Hey guys,

I received my production number today finally and I was thrilled until I entered it in bmwusa.com. I tried to add my car using the production number I was given and it's pulling up the WRONG CAR! My car is an AW 435i and the site shows a GLACIER SILVER 435i. Seriously, WTF?

I'm very frustrated at this point and I'd like any and all advice please. Thank you all in advance for your time and patience.

be patient, once it starts production then the order specs will show correctly. Otherwise, start the freaking out.

Call your CA asap just to be sure. Most likely, it's pre production bugs. Bmwusa is not the go to source btw.

I sure will and I sent her an email, but she's off tomorrow. I'm new to this and I feel silly, what is the go to source by the way? I appreciate your help.

My current car is a 2011, so my info may be old. I found that the BMWUSA site that you as a user can get to, is way behind on the status, and isn't updated all that often. Your best bet is the sales rep. If you're really worried, talk to her manager and have him verify the info for you...the database they can get to is much closer to the production reality than the customer copy.

What is the go to source for this information? There has to be something more reliable than Bmwusa.com

What happens is that they have a production number for a car that is their allotment. What they can do is assign this to you, along with your order specifics. Once they assign a VIN, then you should check it across the vin decoders to be sure that it's ok.

My 2014 vehicle production number was initially a 335 in black, with only a few options. Within about 3-5 days of getting the VIN, the car color online, and information popped up to my correct vehicle - Alpine white.

Hope this is helpful. Just stay on top of it with the dealer.

mine did the exact same thing. don't sweat it.

if it goes into production incorrectly then B&M to your SA and get a new production number. Another 1-2 weeks isn't going to kill you...

Thanks bro! This is exactly what my CA and manager just told me. I'm happy now, lol.

Mine did the same thing recently! Ordered a 14' 328i EBII with Coral Red and it showed a Gray modern line, but after a week or so changed the picture to my car!

Ordered from David @ Steve Thomas... He assured me not to worry, so far so good! 👍
