xDrive & Offset

Can xDrives have offset tires? DIfferent width on front vs back? I've read different opinions about awd vehicles, mostly i've seen that it's ok.

Should try the search

I'm 335 x drive on 245/40r18 front
275/35r18 rear
Stay within 1% diameter and u be fine.
The bimmer is rear wheel drive bias I think it's 40/60

hey jinnrice, any pics of your setup?

I just went 245/40 square on 18x8.5 wheels but would love to see what that 275/35 looks like on a wider rear. Thanks

The correct term is "staggared" (not "offset").

You can indeed have staggared tires, as long as the tires are closely matched in overall diameter/circumference - the usual figure quoted is 1%

Go to tirerack.com; I think it will figure things out for you. (You might have to select a non-xDrive car with sport package to get it to suggest sizes, but I think it will do staggared sizes for xDrive cars.)

For what it's worth, 235/35/19 and 275/30/19 are exactly the same in diameter.

Those are 18's? I though you had 19's for some reason. I like the tire thickness on those.

I had 275/30/19's w/H&R sport and rubbed when people were riding in the back on my F30. The fronts were 235/35/19. Drop looked great!

Search on the iPhone app hasn't worked for a while. No need to be saucy

I think they would poke a little to much on stock height. You would need to drop it a little
