I bought a karcher snow foam kit (karcher lance and karcher snow foam) and tried it today. I was perhaps too optimistic as I thought it would clean the car pretty well given it wasn't too dirty, however, it was pretty poor and I will definitely have to wash the old fashioned way!

Has anyone tried the karcher product and will there be a big difference if I go for a more specialised cleaning product?

Snow foam isn't a one stop shop, it's a preparation stage for a hand wash.

Hi ewanmac As mattt1 says its a pre stage, I use a karcher K5 car with a PB foam lance using Auto Finesse Avalanche, which is a foaming agent there after a two bucket hand wash with Auto Finesse Lather.

You have in Aberdeen a detailing product specialist Polished Bliss Ltd, Craigearn Business Park, Morrison Way, Kintore, AB51 0TH, UK

See link

Hope this helps

+1 on that it's a bit of fun, makes the car and drive smell nice, Halfords own is as good as any I've used but I think I prefer cherry to Apple ....

Worth giving Polished Bliss an email as they can tell you which Shampoo's to go with the colour of vehicle.

Recommend you check out some of their videos as it's detailing nirvana.

The karcher snow foam lance is pretty pants and does not do snow foam well.

Check out autobrite for one of their lances, plenty decent foams around, autobrite stock, avalanche, valet pro etc.

Check out detailing world .com for reviews and write ups.

Polishedbliss as mentioned also well worth checking out / visit.

There are some good wash guides on cleanyourcar as well.

Which lance did you get?

My neighbour works for Karcher and dropped me off the new one recently. Works really well.

I have had a few different ones.

Cheers

The auto bright lance is great, I'm using this one, with a K5 Karcher:

I'm using the lance with Bilt-Hamber Auto-Foam, it a good first clean/wash down. I then wash my f31 with two buckets and a noodle glove.

+1

Using same lance for last couple years, same consistency of foam and no problems.

Cheers for all the advice. I am going to buy some new cleaning products, wax etc from previous treads so will add some better snow foam as well.
