Just purchased a 440i LCI in Mineral Gray - how have yours been?

Hey guys,
Just bought a 2018 440i LCI and I can't wait to pick it up this week.
Just reaching out to the people that have had a b58 440/340 for a while - how has it been?
What should I look out for?
Any help would be appreciated!

Ps. I'm coming out of a 2013 435i, just traded it in.

Cheers,

ZT

Congrats! These are stunning cars, still enjoying my 340i after almost 2 years ownership.

For me the LSD is the biggest must - it makes it a formidable car outside of just straight lines. The B58 is really limited without one.

Reliability wise, haven't had a single problem.

Congratz! The insurance was too expensive compare to a 335i to get a 440/340 for me so I couldn't get one sadly haha. But man that B58 is a beast with a few bolt ons, and overall reliability is great, just have to watch out for the intercooler leak iirc. other than that, it should be similar to your 435i just with a bit more life in it

Great to hear mate! BMW did a great job on the F3X's. I didn't think of the LSD! I will check the vin to see if it's got one.

Haha I had the same thing, my insurance premium is up $700, but to me it was worth it.

So I hear and read they're beasts! That's why I had to get one after the n55.

Do you mind elaborating or sharing a link regarding the intercooler leak??

Cheers guys!

Here she is so happy!!
The b58 is noticeably punchier in the mid range and is butter smooth.
I have noticed a little squeak in the rear when taking off from a standstill as the rotors rotate, and when hopping out of the car with the handbrake up. I've read on the forums it may be something to do with the rear brakes or handbrake - so I'll get it looked at when the car goes into service in late April.

Congrats on the new ride!

Controversial but i think you might find the N55 sounds better then the B58 when stock.
Am I the only one that thinks that?

Very interesting point!! I actually thought about that but my 435i had a remus exhaust on it so it was hard to recall..
I feel the n55 howled a little more and was a bit raspier, and the b58 is a bit deeper? Might just be a placebo though haha.
Either way though - it's still an I6, and what a gem of an engine
