This is why everyone loves BMWs.

So this past weekend could have gone way worse if both driver didn't have BMWs. My dad and I witnessed my brother get into a car accident when all 3 of us were coming back from the car wash together in 3 different cars. Heres a little background, i was ahead of everyone going north bound and my brother was about a car length behind me and the 3 series you see was behind a stop sign to the right of us, and was trying to make a left from a side street and go south bound and we didn't have a stop sign at all, it was a Business street, the 3 series didn't wait for us to pass and he saw me coming and decided to gas it and tried to go before me instead of just waiting 10 more seconds and caused me to floor my breaks to the point that my tires skid. This caused the 3 series to panic and gas it not knowing my brother was out of his sight right next to me. When my brother saw me break really hard he had no time to press the breaks and instead tried to avoid it by gassing it and trying to avoid the person but there wasn't that much room for leverage and therefore they hit each other. My brother ended up in the backyard because he couldn't brake at the moment of contact and repelled to the incoming traffic and into the wooden wall. If both drivers didn't have a BMW they could have been seriously injured or even worst.

Glad to know everyone is okay. That F30 was brand new too...Who in their right mind would risk such a close call like that, especially in a new car.

Most modern cars are safe these days. They haven't gained all that weight over the generations for nothing.

But glad to know that you're all ok.

That sucks. Glad everyone is ok.
See drivers do that a lot now, waiting just a few more seconds doesn't mean the end of the world, driver should have waited.
Better to be dealing with the insurance mess than funeral arrangements though.

How do you know they were speeding? I've had the same thing happen to me while doing the speed limit.

Look at the cars. Look at the damage. Now look at the road. That road has a speed limit around 40 MPH at the very most...an M5 emergency braking from 40 MPH will likely stop within a couple car-lengths. To not be able to see that far out that a car was crossing the intersection and react in time means he was either distracted, speeding, or both.

This is just a case of two 18-22 year old LA bros (hah! literally) broing in their BMWs. I could just imagine their driving style and seating positions right now...they must have looked so cool.

(that LA bros thing was funny lol)

I understand your logic but that being the case if they were indeed speeding then the driver who had the stop sign had even more reason to wait for them to pass instead of trying to play chicken with 2 speeding vehicles.

Can't fault OP for someone else's impatience.

@FC4 So if we were racing how could I have stopped? He decided to pass the stop sign at the last second i barely had any time to brake. And also the car is not an M5 its a 535i. And if you can please read instead of just looking at what happened then you would understand what happened Both cars couldn't see each other because my car was in the way.

The cops told us that this intersection has these kinds of accidents happening a lot lately. I would like to also add that people who are not living in CA, consider yourself lucky because we have so many bad drivers it's not even funny. Within the past 3 months I have almost gotten into dumbasses not waiting for Red lights. People in CA don't have patience and are in a rush.

Basically 2 cars tried to accelerate to go in front / around you and they got in an accident. That is a formula for a very bad accident and you guys are lucky no one got injured. What a sad accident but at least these things are very replaceable.

Glad to see everyone made it out alive! I deeply agree that California has some horrible drivers, my mom got rear-ended 3 times last year....
