Judging by the CDN price of MSport for X3 the price is $2900.
Electronic dampeners are an additional $1500. I would think the F30 pricing will likely be the same, albeit lower in the US.

The wheel on the M6 looked really good in person. Perhaps I will not dislike the F30 M-Sport steering wheel as much in person.

I've since read that in the US we get all leather, not alcantara, as I prefer. Brushed aluminum would be my choice, but I think it read that it was some type of aluminum finish though not quite "brushed". I'll have to wait to be sure as I want to be positive. I like the M sport steering wheel, so it's fine for me. Staggered wheels/tires don't really do much for handling. I've had a straight set on my E46 325i sport, and have staggered on my 135i. I've also driven many E46 staggered setups, and the only difference for me is that the wider rear tires give a bit more rubber for acceleration once the weight transfers to the rear. As for handling my E46 with a straight setup had lighter and better handling than a staggered E46 330i. It's not a deal breaker, but I like a straight setup for longer tire life as they can be rotated, which also allows for equal wear and less prone to setting up an oscillating tire noise, which happens more readily in cars where you can't rotate tires. Over all, it's less costly and you get better equal tire wear. To each his own though. If I go with M sport no biggie as I'll have to get a staggered set of tires for the other 3 seasons. Thanks. It's great to have choices. I know people like alcantara, I don't. IN every car I've seen it in, after a year to two it looks matted down and unattractive. But as I said, it's great to have choices, as we all don't like the same things. I will say the new sport seats are AMAZING! I test drove a 328i sport and the seats are sublime. I decided to go with the 3 series mainly due to the seats. I was considering an S4, but after sitting in the new sport seats I fell in love. Support and comfort of the seats is a top priority for me. If I can't feel and be comfortable, then everything else just doesn't work. BMW did an excellent job on the seats. |

So, compared to the sport line package, the M sport will only be about $1500 more. IOW, it's $3500 above the standard no package 3 series, not $3500 on top of the sport line package. If that is true, then that's great, and priced appropriately. For an extra $1500 - $2000 on top of the sport line the M will get a body kit, staggered unique wheels, special sport steering wheel, M sills, M foot rest, short shifter for MT choice. The majority of cost if for the body kit as far as I can tell. Also, the suspension question has become muddled. I know South posted some comments on this, but it still seems like the STANDARD suspension for the M sport will be the same as the suspension included in the sport line package. BMW states that the sport line suspension is lowered by 10mm. BMW also states that the M sport suspension is lowered by 10mm. But, I haven't read that the M sport suspension lowers it an ADDITIONAL 10mm from the sport line suspension. I'm talking about the standard sport suspensions not the adaptive suspension. South, or anyone who knows definitively, is the M sport suspension DIFFERENT to the sport line suspension? Compare the standard M sport suspension to the standard sport line suspension, and not the adaptive suspension. The ride in the sport line is quite nice and nicely controlled body motion. If the M sport standard suspension is lower and firmer, that would be fine as the sport line could easily be a bit firmer and still have a nice ride. |

Do you mean not on top of the "Sport Line"? Because there is no "sports package" (for USA cars) and that is what is a little confusing. M Sport is considered a "package" and not a "Line" like Sport, Luxury and Modern. That's why I thought the M Sport package would have to be ordered on top of the Sport Line just like Technology package or Driver assist package etc are options that are ordered on top of whichever "Line" you choose.
