Car has been in the shop for 2 days with rattles and they expect a couple more.

Every time they fix one, they hear others.

My 135 was a rattle trap. This one hasn't been as bad. This is scaring me though.

I am really sorry to hear that, I too am perhaps in the same boat. I picked up mine today after getting it serviced for the dashboard rattle, I can't hear the old ones anymore but there are new ones.

What can we as the consumer do in this scenario? I dropped a massive amount of money on a luxury car, rattles should NOT be a standard feature.

Perhaps writing to BMWNA is on the cards?

Maybe BMWs and you are not meant to be.
Do you by any chance use the car on your ranch to herd cattle? Yee ha!!
Go on. Come clean.

On a serious note: Such a situation would drive me to distruction. Totally unacceptable. I really hope you get the rattles eradicated. I am now in complete dread of such a situation. There seem to be too many posts regarding loose and rattling trim.

I think it's a GOOD sign the dealer is taking their time working on a resolution. A far better scenario than a dealer that won't try. Give them a chance and see how they do.

The E90 had a lot of rattle problems early on as well, they eventually worked out all the bugs toward the end of the design cycle.
