Question F30 328i OEM to 17x8.5" ET40 APEX ARC-8 Wheel

Hi Guys,

Totally new to wheel or tyre mods. I have stock 17 * 7.5 wheels on my 2014 328i, And my tyres are coming close to be replaced. I want to change the wheels as well to a much black and sportier look. I did a little research and found out APEX offers good wheels at a reasonable price. I have no idea what wheel and tyre combo to put on it without modification to suspension or mileage affect. Can you guys fill me in with some suggestions??

apex has the arc-8, ec-7 or ps-7. arc-8's are lightest (best performance). ec-7 and ps-7 look similar, the basic difference being the twin spokes are parallel on the ec-7 and converging slightly on the ps-7. personally i think the ps-7 are the nicest looking. they all have the sport mesh look about'em.

black would look nice on melbourne red. i think anthracite would look better. your choice, though.

18's, if you have shitty roads and want better ride and protection. 19's will look nicer but slightly compromise what 18's give you.

decide if you like square or staggered setup. square=handling, staggered=looks.

front rim should be 8.5" ET35ish with 225, 235 or 245 widths and aspect ratio that provides a diameter of approx 26", give or take a few tenths.

rears should be 8.5" or 9" ET35ish with 245 or 255 width tires. aspect ratio appropriate for 26" diameter as well.

my choice for you would be anthracite ps-7, 19x8.5 ET35 235/40/19 or 245/35/19 fronts and 19x9 ET35 w/ 255/35/19 rears.

don't scrimp on tires.

the base suspension has quite a gap so it'll look better if you lower the car a bit.

here's a guy with 18" anthracite ps-7

Thanks for the info. Another question.. I would love to go with PS7's 18*9 on both front and rear.. I like the satin black more... 235/40/18 F and 245/40/18 R. Would this require any suspension mod?

For the tyres I am thinking Continental ControlContact Sport AS. Are they any good?

Will this whole set up be done at discount tire if I get the tires from them?

you can run that set up on 18x9 square but your rear size will be stretching slightly and the fronts will be stretching, lowering the tire unsightly

on 18x9 square, at minimum, do 245/40/18 all corners. 255/40 would fit the 18x9 more ideally.

it'd be better with 18x8.5+35 on 235/45/18 or 245/40/18 fronts and 18x9 +31 on 255/40/18 rears. this will help maintain a reasonable looking gap on stock susp.

continental dws 06 are better than what you listed. for all seasons...

This has been beaten to death, try the search function.

Your best bet is EC-7s at 18x8.5 ET35 with 255/40/18 square or
ARC-8's 18x8.5 ET38 with 255/40/18 square.

Both are tried and true and have been mounted a gazillion times. You can run a narrower tire like a 235 or 245 but the 255 will be spot on diameter-wise so there is no speedo error.

both setups will fit fine. 235/45 or 245/40 front, 255/40 rear

thread has pics of arc-8 with 255/40 square

Well there you go got the 245 Continental dws xl

Tires and Wheels are simply amazing.. they seem like a serious upgrade in the ride quality and the response.. I just need to wrap the roof, get a diffuser, tune to stage one and it's a beast!
