Bit disappointed with speed limit information

I know some want to code speed limit information, I specified it as an option on my new LCI 330i and it works pretty well, but I am a bit disappointed in the way BMW have implemented it in the Kombi screen and if I had known how it was displayed I probably wouldn't have bothered. It sits over to the left just above the mileage, which as far as I can tell is a space that isn't used by anything else. Therefore I can't understand why it is one of the variables under BC and not permanently displayed. I like to have MPG displayed, but it is one or the other, which is disappointing. I have coded the digital speedo, and that would be a good feature to have the actual speed digitally displayed alongside the speed limit for easy reference. It can obviously be displayed along with other items in the Kombi as it comes on with navigation instructions when guidance is running.

Nice idea, shame about the restricted way it was implemented.

It makes much more sense if you have HUD, since the speed limit is shown there next to a digital display of your actual speed: the display in the instrument cluster then becomes redundant.

Can this be easily retrofitted? (Unlikely i know....), but would be nice to have. (I also don't have the full black instrument cluster.

Not easily, needs full black panel display, camera in the back of the mirror plus needs an FSC code to activate. Would be an expensive retrofit.

Also aren't the windscreens different for a HUD?

This one seems a better option for retrofit: BMW Head Up Screen retrofit (new accessory) (BMW part # 62 30 2 361 627)

I've already got the camera through my adaptive headlights. Isn't that the same thing?

If you don't have the Driver Assistance package, you have a different camera (FLA instead of KAFAS) that does not support recognition of traffic signs.

For speed limit display without KAFAS you can use this retrofit and add 8TH to your FA, then VO code NBT/CIC and kombi:
