Build out cash applied after discounting typically?
Hello all,
I am trying to lease a 2014 335i xDrive that is well optioned. I am curious as the prices I have been quoted haven't been good at all in my opinion. The car is listed at $57,795 was offered to me for $53,750. That is $55,500 if I pull the build out cash from it. I was hoping to lease the car with the max MSD's with the price at $51,545 (invoice of $53,295 - $1,750 build out cash). I have been lurking here for a bit and from what I have read this should be doable...or am I off base? We are out of the minivan stage so I will be dumping the wife's minivan and giving her my 2012 Durango while I hope to get into a 335i xDrive so wish me luck..haha. Thanks.. Tom |

Model Year 2015 ordering is going to begin soon. That price is bad. You can go lower than that. Typically Invoice is 7% lower than MSRP. Build out cash would come off that price. Invoice should be around 53,750 (your number is more accurate). Selling price should be invoice minus any incentives + dealer markup (no more than $500). For outgoing model I would ask them to sell at invoice atleast. Suggest $500 below invoice. You are right in your own calculations, don't listen to the dealer or feel pressured. There is definitely some homework to do before you are convinced that the price is good. Especially when leasing there is much more care to be taken, not only the selling price. Money factor, MSDs and residuals. Do a minimum driveoff and dont let the dealer fool you into a lower monthly payment. I think you already know those things, even though it is your first forum post. My advice is to not rush and understand that you are getting a good deal on an outgoing MY14 model.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts. I emailed them yesterday before your reply asking for a detailed breakdown of the deal they are offering so I can cut it to pieces. If this deal doesn't work out there is an Mineral White 335i xDrive at another localish dealer close enough in features that I want. Let's see what today brings...
