Smile 2014 F30 LED - Halogen to LED Conversion

Hi Everyone,

Greetings! This is my first post but I have been a visitor here from past three years! I will jump on the topic right away

I recently did the upgrade of my halogen to LED from UMNITZA. I also upgraded my fog lights to HID with ballasts.

Pros:
1. Looks very near to OEM
2. No errors
3. Smooth Installation
4. I will say value for money because I feel like they are worth it.
5. Very bright, crisp and sharp

Cons:
1. LEDs are little on the brighter side but perfect for dark pitch road. The make is LUXEN NHK Canbus.
2. A little flickering on startup which I heard can be fixed by Coding.

Overall I am very satisfied and I was looking for the replacement from a long time.

It has those screw thing to adjust the beam. I did it once as it was a little off. Very easy to do it.

Does it have any kind of decent cut off? I know it won't be xenon type, but as far as the cut off from the halogens to this, was there much of a change? This is the only reason why I'm still up in the air about them is because I don't want it to be a big glob of light off the front of my car like it was when I put led bulbs into my low beams.

I was afraid of that, mine has beam control next to my steering wheel, and throws an error if i install headlights with manual adjustment

the lights look great! They flickr on startup and then dont flickr again? Definitely the best alternative to halogen lights. I bet its so much nicer driving around at night especially with extra hids in the fog lights.

Looks great man! But question on the fitment..Image 3115 and 3118 (showing comparison of factory halogen vs LEDs) it looks like there is significant gap between hood line and quarter panel to the housing. It doesn't seem to fit into that curve as well. The after picture is also noticeable gap. Are my eyes deceiving me or did this not bother you much?

On my set they flicker on startup for maybe 3 sec, with the exception of 1 that flickers just a bit longer.

I didn't see any issue with the cut off or a big glob of light. Like you said they are not xenon and also not completely adaptive, they are very near. I also did a comparison with my buddy's OEM and found it very near.

Can you fix that with coding? There should be some workaround to that.

They absolutely are. Yes just on startup and now for some reason I didn't notice any flickering for the past two days

For me, it was just the one on driver side for maybe 2-3 seconds. I start my car in off position now just so only DRLs are running and switching back to the automatic. Two days in a row I started my car in automatic and there was no flickering so fingers crossed

Do you know whats the technical explanation about it?

Good observation. I looked at the car again and didn't notice much difference. Maybe its the angle of pic (I am a horrible photographer). I am planning to visit Umnitza again so will check with them as well.

Although it shouldn't have changed as the bumper was fit in the exact same way it was taken off and the lights dimensions are exactly the same. Thanks for pointing it out

Thank you! Umnitza - Located in Concord CA.

No they only flicker for about 3 seconds at startup (that also if you have the lights on). If you start at off position and switch to headlights afterward, no flickering at all. Additionally I didn't notice any flickering whatsoever for the past two days.

No clue, one of the beams in the driver side flickers alot longer than usual. I've had them on since late november and nothings changed.

Edit: I tried your way with starting the lights with DRLs only then switching to auto and your right their is no flickering.
