Coding for paddle shift retrofit

Hi,

I would like to know the exact way (just enough way) to code for paddle shift retrofit.

1. Remove 205 and add 2TB
2. VO code FEM_BODY
3. FDL code FEM_BODY => PADDLES_VERBAUT = aktiv.

Is it correct and enough?

Just curious I found most ppl mentioned VO code ALL modules, but I think it is not necessary right?

Someone said VO code FEM_BODY, EGS, ICM , KOMBI
Some other said VO code FEM_BODY, EGS, ICM, GWS

What is the correct way then?

Any help gratefully appreciated.

You only need to VO code FEM Body if all you want is the functionality.
VO coding ICM and KOMBI will give you sport transmission (faster gear shifts) and Sport+ functionality from ICM + Sport+ icon in the KOMBI
not sure if VO coding EGS does anything

So are you saying that you don't need to flash EGS to get true sport program?

I was in that consumption that automatic- and sport-automatic-transmissions have different software?

Yes, the transmission supposedly has different software. I would code FEM_BODY, EGS, ICM, and KOMBI, just to be safe. It's not like it's gonna hurt anything.

Okay, but it is still going to need to flash a "sport"-SW in the EGS ecu (not just changing parametres aka coding) to get the "factory"-sport-transmission?

I'm asking because I'm trying to do a OEM sport-transmission retrofit 2TB to my 335i F30 and I want everything to work like it was from factory

So far I know I need sport-steeringwheel with paddles, sport-gearlever, some wiring from steeringwheel and the codings mentioned above, but do I/ can I / is it even nesessary to flash the EGS as it was in the E60 2TB retrofit

No, you should not need to flash, just VO code. It's not using any different software. All the firmware on a base 335i and a fully equipped 335i should be identical. The only difference would be the parameters set and features enabled based on what modules/equipment you have. (Hence the reason for FDL and VO coding).

I believe it is unnecessary to flash. If you want to be thorough, I would modify the FA by adding 2TB, write the FA back to the car, and VO code every ECU.

I'm going to update the I-step first to 54.1 and after that add 2TB to FA and code the whole vehicle anyway so this no need to flash with different SW is very good information.

Thanks!

Yep! Also, if you are updating your vehicle to 54.1 yourself, just change your vehicle's FA first and then update all modules. You won't need to code it in later then.

Good point, thanks.

Only have to install sport gearlever before upgrading I-step, otherwise it's going to stuck on the gearlever version mismatch

Ok, I-step is upgrated to 54.3 and coded for 2TB. Everything works fine without sport-gearlever so it's only coding as said earlier

Next question: I have sport-steering wheel with lane departure warning without paddles at the moment. Can I just buy normal sport-steering wheel with paddles and transfer the LDW-motor from the old wheel or do I need to buy steering wheel with LDW?

So I replaced my sportline wheel (no paddles) with an M-sport wheel that had paddles. I had previously added 2TB to my car and VO coded FEM, EGS, ICM and KOMBI so I've had those functionalities for a while. I read on other posts that if I had FEM BODY 3190 PADDLES_VERBAUT then that means my car was pre-wired for shift paddles.

However, after starting the car, the paddles did not work - I coded the PADDLES_VERBAUT back to nichtaktiv, restarted the car, and re-coded it to aktiv and it still didn't work. Does that mean my car isn't pre-wired and the only reason that folder in FEM BODY exists is because I VO coded 2TB?

I think the folder FEM BODY 3190 PADDLES_VERBAUT can be found at all cars, also with manual gearshift.
The existing coding values in all ecus of all cars are the same.
But some codings are not activated.

Hello!
I have installed paddles on my 330th. Activation with Esys should be done. The guy who will perform the activation discovered that my car does not have the same (sports) gearbox as the usual F30.
So my question is which parameters would change in my car for it to work?
Thanks!

F30 2016 retrofit f1

Hi guys,
I have seen kies motorsports tutorial on how to retrofit paddle shifters. I have done everithing right, coded the car via bimercode, but it is not working. I am 100% positive my car is previred, because i have just duble check it now. Does anyine know what the issue might be? Does it need some extended coding? Thank
