Carbon Black with Rocker Decals

Anybody have a photo of Carbon Black with the black M Performance rocker panel decals? Considering having the dealer at this before I pick up my car on Saturday. Not sure I trust myself enough to do it myself and get it properly aligned! Thanks!

This is not a DIY unless you have experience with decals/film experience. One little slip up and you either have a bad looking decal or have to buy a whole new decal set. A friend tried to do it on his F33 and failed miserably.

It's also hard to do it without a lift having to crouch down and see if you're positioning it properly.

Yep, I can attest to this, its a pain in the arse! Even tho I did my own , it was hours worth of work and finesse. Itll never be 100% so you have to poke holes to get the air out. I did the wet method its way more forgiving. I screwed up one side and had to reorder another set, thank goodness I got the china knockoffs for $40 bucks. Its insane BMW charges like $150 for some stupid vinyl.

The installation requires the wet method. If the cut out is already set then all you have to do is spray the surface with soapy water, peel the vinyl and position it the way you want. Make sure you spray on the outside of the vinyl also and use a sgueegee to push the water out. I installed my MPERF stick on myself. Wasnt too hard.

also installed them myself on the old F30 .. wasnt a terrible job as they come from the agents pretty much marked off on placement ...
the china knock off doesnt have the same font/spacing and ///M colours as the OEM ones.. yes its ridiculous what they charge! ...

Thanks guys! I think I can handle it if I do the wet method. Anybody have a photo of it on Carbon Black though? I think it'd be hard to even see it. May not be worth it.

its not like how it would stand out on a lighter colour car ... but the matt finish decal to the high gloss car paint does blend/stand out on its own ... add a bit more of a contour on the side skirt

on a black car, even with the matt contrast it is difficult to see. not worth it IMO. i say get a m-performance sticker, put it in the same place and call it a day :-)

I need to reposition the lettering but here's mine on a sportline car. Without the m performance you can't even tell. I know most people hate the M emblem, but in this case, it really provides a great contrast and, imo, makes it look much better
