Drive the car again or ask for a real 30min test drive. Also, the suspension is important to you and the black 335 does not have it and will ride softer so you'll regret that.

I was cross shopping the S4 vs. the 335i a few weeks ago. I ultimately decided on a 335i xDrive because it had nearly everything I wanted (including the colour combo).
The problem here is the fact that the S3 isn't a real competitor for the 335i, I'd say you're doing yourself a disservice by comparing the two (albeit, based on the amount you're paying each month, numbers in terms of HP, I don't blame you); but know this - it comes down to whichever one will put a smile on your face. Drive both hard, and whichever one feels better to you should be the one you go with since you're not in love with either one. I could come up with a pros and cons list for the S4 vs 335i, but the S3 is a whole other ball park I think. I was considering the S4 because of the engine and exhaust note, the 335i just can't compare because of its turbos. But at the end of the day, the 335i was superior in every other category, and I simply couldn't choose the Audi just because of the exhaust note. I can quell that with another sports car somewhere down the line.

Then get the BMW. I like BMW's and have test driven a few but was never fond enough to buy one. You feel strongly about the BMW, get it and never look back. It's a great car, two excellent choices. It's not a permanent decision. When your done with it, you'll have a number of new options from both manufacturers.

I considered both. The 335/340 is objectively a better car (it's a model up from the A3/S3), but subjectively, the S3 is more fun to drive.
I came away with bigger grins, but I needed a bigger car, so the 335i it was.

Well I impulsively took delivery on a 2015 black m sport 335xi this evening. I *think* already have buyers remorse but if I went for the Audi, perhaps I'd feel the same way. I'll never know now.
I'm on a wait list for the M2. If my number is actually up anytime soon, I'll list my lease for takeover until then I'll try to adjust to not having a sporty car or hopefully the car will feel better once it's broken in and I toss the run flats.

Buyers remorse is my modus operandi. I'm a very picky shopper at even the smallest items, wondering if there is a superior hand soap for the $ that I just bought. You can imagine my stress levels after buying a car. I purchased my car 4 days ago and I still worry I should have just paid a little more for a new base M3. I tell myself to enjoy my car because it's too damn late anyway. It works most of the time.

Yea definitely swap out the suspension. Xdrive suspension is TERRIBLE. I agree that you should def pick up coilovers and ditch the run flats. (Note I don't recommend strut/spring combo)
On another note, I was at the dc autoshow and sat in a S3 for the first time since I bought my 335i. The interior is pretty bad! I hadn't noticed before because I was coming from a VW gti. Now that is not to say the 3 series is great, but it is certainly light years better than an S3! |

I get the buyer's remorse thing. I assumed a lease on a 435xi 6MT a couple of months ago. Flew to get it, and on the drive back I was so questioning my decision. Then I lived with it for a few weeks, and as I discovered all the new things I really grew to love it.
Drove my other cars for their winter battery charge this weekend. The Boxster, oh how it shifts much more difficult than the 435xi. Then on to the 550i; thought nothing could replace that car that I have loved for 8 years, but the new technology such as heads up display, LED lighting, and newer electronics finds me wondering how I can ever live without these things again. I had an Audi A4 once, nice car, no troubles with it, but once I got back in a BMW... No going back. Yes, I too am going to replace those RFT with Pilot Sports in the spring. Post back in a few weeks and tell us how you feel about the 335xi.

Like the folks mentioned, interior of Audi is the main factor that turned me away. And I'm talking about s4 coupes. Haven't really experienced an s3 but I guess it, at the best, won't be better.
Not a fan of Quattro either, unbalanced is the word to describe how I feel when I drive the s4. Powerful, indeed. comfy? not quite. Technology-wise, Audi has given me this impression over the past years, that they don't really care about anything but stuff under the hood while BMW staff do. And I don't see their engine techs go lightyears ahead of bmw either. I might be super biased, but Audi interior, here I mean most of'em (I've driven s4 s5 tt and q7, not test drive, drive drive) have this old schooled style going on there. Not saying it's bad, just not my type. It seems like you are a 2seater lover, have you test driven a 435i yet? I love that machine but I don't love its price tag lol |

I leased a 428 don't like it. 30k miles later, still don't like it. Big time wrong decision. Can't wait to get rid of it.
I think if you don't like it right away, you won't start liking it later on. |

I like the handling, 6MT, sleek look, different looking than all the 3-series you see on the road.

It feels very heavy and the engine is just bland and lacks character. Over all it looks great but not much beyond that. Just not fun to drive. Does not feel special. I want to get out of it, but will probably be 10K in the hole now. Should of bought an M235i |

I really like my 428 GC. I can't say I LOVE it because I don't..but I like it a lot. It's quick, handles well and can hold stuff in the back if you want. I might trade it in on an M2 in 2 yrs. We'll see.
