Is this a rhetorical question? Because if you're a driving enthusiast and affording an M3 is not an issue, then it's a no brainer - get the M3.

well here in Chile car are way more expensive than in the US, my Grand Coupe cost me around 73.000.- and the M3, last they have without the LCI, is 86.000.-, so i just pull the trigger on the M3...
i go pick it up on Wednesday, actually i was worried on the M3 having a too stiff suspension but i test drove it and it was fine.

I think you should wait to validate the competition pack changes are worth ignoring, unless you are planning to modify heavily or are getting a sweet deal

Understanding car flip in USA is common, it's to me still not worth it. I mean all the hassle for the difference between 2 6-pots? Sure if you get a ridiculous offer why not. But if it's my money, I'd try something different or better. For example, hold on until 981.2 Cayman S is out if 4 door isn't a requirement.

Though I love the shape of the 4GC compared to the 3, if money, AWD, and hatchback trunk are no issue go M3!

Now an M4GC on the other hand...that would be sweet O:-)

Oddly enough, i have an F80 M3 and ordering a 440 GC as soon as they are available to have as a daily driver. i LOVE the M3 but i would not want it as a DD. Driving alone its great but with anyone else in the car with me its just too loud and harsh. Also its HORRIBLE on rainy roads with the stock tires. lol.

Adaptive M Suspension + better tires would be a better fix.

OP: If $$$ ain't no issue it's no brainer. Unfortunately a M3 lease is around 80% more than a 340i.

I actually just made the move at the end of January. I went from a 435i gc xdrive to an M4. I wish I would've just skipped the 435. My E90 328 was a better car (mainly because it was a manual) and my M4 is manual. I have way too much fun in the M. I also have the MPE and the noises it makes cause me to giggle like a little girl. It's friggin awesome. If you can swing it, do it.

My M has everything but adaptive suspension. I just choose a non bumpy road to drink my coffee (found that one out the hard way). It's black sapphire, with black interior, black wheels, I have the black grilles and black side grilles on order and I'm getting the windows tinted at my break in oil change (worked that in to the deal when I bought it)
