F30 center console encroaches on drivers leg. LHD models.

My E90 was in for service recently and they gave me an F30 loaner. I adjusted the drivers seat accordingly but noticed my drivers leg was frequently rubbing the edge of the center console. Anyone else notice this in the F30?

Got my E90 back and realize I have at least 2-3" of space when I'm in a conformable seated position. I would have to stretch the rub the console in the E90.

Maybe my E90 Sport seats make the difference? They keep my leg from wandering?

Coming from an E46, there is no contest for room, F30 is big where I can need it to be, particularly in the back seat, but plenty of room up front for me too.

Yes I rub my knee on the centre console all the time. Might invest in a leather pad to put there

weird, i noticed the opposite with the e90. i would always have a pain in my right leg from resting against the center console.

Never had this happen either, not even close. Maybe it has something to do with your seat position?

Same here. M3 in for service, got a 328 loaner. The center console it much wider and I feel I have a lot less space for my leg. I am 6"4' and the e90 feels roomier.

I'm thinking (hoping) the 328i base cars we get as loaners have no lower thigh support thus allow our leg to wander. I shall find out in a few days when the car I have on order arrives. I have a backup plan if this F30 doesn't cut it.

Same here. My Z4 had some padding where the leg touches to center console. Wish F30 had sma kind of thing.

The water bottle place in the door also disturbs my other leg.

Garage List
It must depend on how you sit and how tall or short you are. I'm 5'11" and don't have a problem with touching the center console.

the f10 front passenger seat is worse. the left side of the console could have been designed to allow the passenger not to have to rest his knee on it.

In my left hand drive 328...

Strangely, I'm ok with the center console, but instead I find on long trips, my left leg rubs uncomfortably against the handle on the door. I'm pretty sure that's just how I keep my leg, but it is annoying.

The loaner I had was a sport model. The seats felt very similar to my E90 M3 seats.

For the sake of this new F30 I have on order, mine and my CA's sanity, I'll hope you being 6'4" has a lot to do with your discomfort.

Picked up car yesterday. Sport seats make all the difference. The thigh bolsters keep your leg from wandering. I've got similar clearance with this F30 as I did with my E90.

After more research, it appears this is more of an issue for for cars without sport seats. Or possibly for tall people, or those who prefer to adjust seat so their legs are not stretched out.

I am 6'3" and fit with my legs swimming. Hell if i put the seat to max back and down i would barely touch the pedals. What kind of seat position are you sitting in that makes you feel cramped in this car?
