I'm having this same problem. I have coded LC, and I have the sport automatic transmission, but I still can't activate launch control.

My current I step is f020-15-07-502.

Anyone ever successfully code launch control on a pre March build f30?

Just coded the LC=1, and it works.
Already had the Sport AT.

Did you drive atleast a couple of miles before trying to use the LC ?
Won't let you on a cold car.

So you didn't do anything else differently apart from coding lc aktiv?

I don't understand why mine isn't working. I'm following all the right steps to perform it. My car is up to temperature and after >10 miles. And I drive a march 2013 build f30 335i...... So if it's working on your 2012, it should work on mine. Argh!

You need to have your EGS firmware at 51.0+ or higher firmware, so flash it if nessesary. Then also have 2TB coded for Sport AT, unless you are already equipped with SAT, and VO code EGS, ICM, and KOMBI. Then code Launch Control set Applikation_LC and/or LC to aktiv in the EGS.

Also, you need to have your vehicle be driven first for 6 miles (10 km) uninterrupted to get to optimal engine temperature. Then:
1. Place driving mode in Sport+ or turn off traction control.
2. Move transmission into Sport. (Should say S1 on your instrument cluster.)
3. Firmly and fully press the brake pedal and hold.
4. Floor the throttle past resistance point into kick down. (You should feel a little click on the pedal.)
5. Your instrument cluster should say "Launch Control Active"
6. Fully release the brake pedal and keep the throttle floor.
7. Enjoy.

Those are the steps I tell everyone else and it seems to work for them. Hope this sorta helps...

Thank you. I appreciate the instructions.

How do I flash the updated egs? Where do I get it from?

My current I step is f020-15-07-502. Does that indicate what my current egs is?

Also, do I run the risk of bricking my ecu? I'm not sure if this is coding is flashing the ecu.

Apologize in advance for the noob questions...

I believe if your I-Step is currently F020-15-07-502, you should be good to go for coding and actual use.

As Halsifer stated, I just coded the LC to aktiv in the EGS, and it did work.
And, as stated, I already had the Sport AT.

Are you sure you have the sport AT ?

Read through the How-to documents you received when you obtained the E-Sys software.

Launch control RPM adjustment

So i was able to code in the LC to AKTIVE and it works on my 2013 F30 335i Sport line with the Sport Automatic Transmission.

My question is, can you adjust the RPM's like you can on the M models? I tried using the cruise control to adjust it but the RPMS sit at 2k and wont budge. I didnt know if there is another way to bump them up on a non M car.

I don't think it's mechanically possible to go above this.
The M has a double-clutch auto, while ours is a normal slushbox.
In ours, the engine speed while preparing for launch control is given (and limited) by the torque converter stall speed.

The more torque you have, the higher the stall speed will be.
On mine (diesel) for instance it's ~3K RPM...

It should be wherever the turbo has the best performance so you have the best "no lag" launch.
