BMW F30 or LCI-F30

Hi All,

I am planning to upgrade to a F30 but can't decide if I should hold on for the LCI version next year or get the 2014 one. I've heard there are some really great deals on the 2014s currently. The main things I'm concerned about are drastic changes. When I got my E90 in 2009, it was a big step up from the pre-LCI design in both interior and exterior, including navigation.

On a side note, I test drove the F30 and it has changed quite a bit. Any idea if the LCI will be tuned to be more sportier?

Please give me your feed back!

Sorry, bit no way would I want to be a Guinnee Pig on a new engine - another reason why I am waiting out the M3 F80 till a year has passed. I waited out the F30 till the 2013 models were released when major bugs resolved.

The LCI version in 2016 will also be a 340 versus 335i from what is be leaked out from BMW.

If anything they will become even softer. Nowadays if you want a sportier sedan (like E90 used to be), go for IS.

I would wait until the LCI is released and then decide.

LCI is less than a year away, but that's still 11 months out before they start hitting US shores.

If you can wait, wait. If you need the car now, don't wait.

Wait it out. You'll be grateful later - at least you'll be making an informed decision.

If you can wait go for it.

Remember though, if you wait until the LCI F30's hit lots, you may have to wait even longer if you want to actually get a good deal on them.

I'd imagine the changes shouldn't be significant outside of the new engine but that only applies to the 335i, if you're looking at a 328i then it should be a moot point.

I believe the new engines come a year after the LCI, or about 2 years from now.
I say get it now and be happy with your car.

LCI models should be coming out as 2016 models in the second half of 2015, of course it will take a few months for buyers to take delivery (would guess 2015 September at the earliest for US buyers). We don't yet know of what the B series engines will bring to the table in terms of power/efficiency. If I were in your shoes, I would wait a few months to see what BMW will bring out. As happy as I am with the stock N55 power figures, I wouldn't want to be stuck with a "dated" engine for not having the patience to wait a few months, expect ally if the new B series engines can be more powerful and more efficient at the same time.

Agreed but the first year B engines might be buggy as well.

Never driven the new C Class but, man, it looks good! The interior is one class above F30, the exterior is ... debatable. I would def cross shop, the pricing is almost identical and now with the F30 softer drive, the dynamics cannot be too different.

The new 3 cylinder engines (both diesel and petrol) are out in the Mini so should be well proved before the 3 series gets its mid life update. Also in the coming BMW people carrier (sorry, Active Tourer)

They're already using the B48 on the F56 Mini Cooper S so it would've already been in the market for almost two years by then.

My lease is due in April 2016 and I'm still contemplating on whether I should get into the 330i LCI to replace my current 328i.

I've read the reviews, but I just think they are very ugly inside.
