iDrive firmware update for CIC

It may be common knowledge, but I've just become aware of a firmware update for CIC-based iDrive systems - the first one for ages. The files are dated 9 Oct 2014.

For reference, the iDrive telephony system was on TX-003-005-006 and after the update it's on TX-003.005.008. The multimedia firmware version (on my car at least) stayed the same at MX-003-005-004.

For me it's fixed the very annoying issue of my phone not automatically connecting to the car and beeping every minute for the first 10 minutes of every journey until it decides to connect anyway.

You can update the car OTA from the iDrive menus or download the update here by entering your VIN and installing via USB:

Is there a BMW UK equivalent of that link? I don't think I've seen one.

I did it OTA so that guarantees you get the right version if you're concerned. The car will tell you if there's an update available when you try it.

It actually tells you in iDrive to check on www.bmw.com/update
