328i to 430i GC?

So the past few days I've been in talks with a dealer about a 2018 430i Gran Coupe.
I'm relatively new to BMW - just bought my 328i a few weeks ago and a complimentary loaner began it's inception

So the dealer has offered to pay off my '16 328i for a 430i GC with lots of goodies. One of the questions I had was on the headlights..this particular car has the round design as opposed to the modern hexagonal look I have on my '16.
Is this normal? Dealer says it has the new LED headlights but they look pretty round to me. Can a veteran give me some insight? Is there a 'package' missing that includes these?

See the difference:

all normal with the 2018 GC.

I thought 18s all had LED standard now. I didn't think you could get Xenons any more. Is that just on the 3-Series?

he has a 2016 3 series (with Xenon or LED) and is looking into the 2018 GC (full LED lights)

My 328i has the non adaptive LEDs and I'd hate to get an older design on a new(and much more expensive) car.

So I'm correct in assuming the executive package includes the adaptive headlights - which include the hexagonal design? So the "LEDs" that come standard" the dealer spoke of are the rings, just LED bulbs instead of xenons?
If that's the case, BMW could have included the new design without adaptive, like the 3 series.
My current lights below - the design has grown on me in these few short weeks

Correct on the 2018 GC Xenon is NO longer available. You get standard LED or optional FULL LED.

Ok...I wouldn't call the LCI lights "round". Does the GC not get the same LCI lights as the 3-Series??? Look at OP's pics in the first post.

Ok...I wouldn't call the LCI lights "round". I guess that's where my confusion is.
Had to look up "LCI".
Wouldn't the full LED design also be considered LCI?
I'm still learning and not up to date on most of the BMW terminology.

Yes, although it was optional pre-LCI. I'm referring more to the DRL pattern--that's what I thought you were referring to...

That's the confusing part. Technically they do but with last years design - they look just like xenon lights with projector housing etc but use led instead of xenon. The "FULL LED" uses the new angular light design.

I drove a 2018 4 series loaner and it definitely did not come with xenons. It was LED in the projector housing that previously housed the xenons. The DRLs were Halos and the lights were non adaptive.

Yes the DRL pattern is what I was talking about. Both options use leds but the DRL patterns a different for the executive package if I'm not mistaken. I updated the vin details.

Ok--I just went on Build Your Own on BMWUSA. The image shows the old-style halo DRLs for the standard LEDs, but the newer style DRLs if you add the Full LEDs to your packages.

I learned something today.

I took delivery of a 2018 440i GC last month and because of the shape of the headlights I assumed they were xenons. BUT the label on the side says "BMW LED". Check out my pics and decide for yourself.

My VIN says 7/2017 build.

This helps confirm what I was beginning to suspect. It's a bit confusing using the term LED as everyone is used to the projector look referring to xenons.
Beautiful car btw congrats
