The JB4 has a few built in maps.. MAp1 will be default. So when you install it will be on map1 which is perfect if you don't have any supporting mods..

Ok thanks that clears it up. I have a Dinan intake that's about it. Just looking to get a few more hsp. Being over 350 hsp would be nice.

If I do it myself, There's nothing that needs to be done after in order to keep it running legit? I've been hesitant cause I'd hate for it to start giving me problems after.

Nope, Just set the Jb4 to default settings and run map 5 and you should be golden. The default settings are provided on n54tech

Plug and play and go.

There are instructions and you tube videos. You could almost teach a monkey to install it. It's pretty simply should have the most basic understanding and mechanical skill-set.

I will be doing it sometime next week ordered the part already. Someone posted on this thread the map you should use if you don't have any mods is Map1? Can someone clarify if it's map1 or map5 you want to be on with no mods other than an intake.

Why did you take out it, especially if you do not have another tune in vehicle?

I found the gear shifts to be messy (not crisp and quick), and wanted to preserve my gearbox

Explanation i have is that by tricking the DME into thinking the boost is lower than it is, it also calculates a torque that is incorrect, and that affects the gearbox behaviour.
