Tirerack prices

I've been getting my tires from tirerack since 2002 but after getting a set of Contis for my wife's Acura last week I checked prices on Amazon and eBay and prices from both of them were about 10% lower than what I paid tirerack with a free shipping that would save me the additional $35. As far as I know tirerack does not offer price matching for tires they sell, so I spent close to $100 more using tirerack compared to what I would pay getting tires from Amazon.

So here is my question. Do people still use tirerack for their tire needs despite the fact that tirerack is now more expensive when it comes to tires that other popular sources like amazon and eBay?

I've actually been using Costco. While tirerack is a bit lower in price, after mounting and balancing it turns around to where Costco is a bit less in total.

I stopped using tire rack a long time ago. Discount tire direct usually cheaper. and when eBay has the 100 off 400 or more on tires from discount tire direct u get a better deal

ive been using tirerack and ebates to get cash back. Typically only buy when there are rebates associated with the tires. They ship quickly out of CT to NY so convenience is why i continue to use them. DTD is a good choice as well but they seem more limited for tire choices. No costco for us in the NE.

I also went the Costco Route, I got my $70 off a set of 4 plus Penny instalation, so all in were cheaper than TrieRack plus free balancing and tire rotations for life

Costco routinely has $70 rebates off Bridgestone and Michelin tires, and often meets or beats TR on a lot of the performance tires out there.

Tire Rack has consistent low prices across the board on a wide selection, but certainly not the absolute lowest.

Purchasing from eBay on tires gives me pause on warranty issues.

Try and purchase a set of BMW Star Tires from Costco, lol. And many reports on forums of Costco refusing to mount any tire size besides what is stated on door plaque.

Finally, Tire Racks Road Hazard is another plus.

So there are certainly downsides, but also upsides to Tire Rack depending on where you place your value.

That will vary depending on tire and the individual.

This is a plus for sure--had a nail in outer treads of wife's 2-month old tire. It was easily replaced--had to pay mount but better than the $170 for a new tire.

fwiw, from 4/19-4/29, costco has mps4s, in some sizes, $70 off a set of 4 + 1 cent install. i doubt you'll it cheaper elsewhere.

I bought on ebay from Tirebuyer.com. They have an actual website but they had a $60 discount at the time for buying on their ebay store.

Pretty damn good prices, even looking at a set of Michelin PS4S would be like $868.

Problem with costco is that they won't install non-runflats on a car that came with them stock. Which means most f30s. At least my local costco.
