It certainly feels a lot more Premium in the hand vs the non swipe Std one we had a for the mini box in the bedroom.

I do quite like the Q remotes. Seems I have the first edition ones. One just buttons and another with the touch motion.
I use the touch one, but find it can be very VERY sensitive. just knocked remote in the past with arm and it either pauses, rewinds etc..

Still can't get to a better discount than 33% off.

Seems like the better deals are a thing of the past. However, my contract doesn't expire for another 2 weeks so no harm in sitting tight for a bit longer.

When I left, and looked into my account offers, for customers who left within the previous 12 months, the discount for everything was 40%.

I've just taken the 33% offer on the basis it's £30 less than I would otherwise be paying (and £15 less than today) plus it took just 10 minutes on the phone.

They've also given me the right to cancel at any time without penalty due to all the issues I've had over the past year or so.

Now I just need one of those new remotes without the hair trigger.

It's not a bad deal, and maybe that is as good as it gets on Sky Q.

Guess I'll just have to decide whether Sky Q is worth the extra £26 a month

I settled with 50% with £25 credit. They said that the best they had was 40% at the time and no previous notes about being offered 50% and £25 credit but they got "approval" , heres the link to the chat and I guess you could chance saying you got a certain deal and they might "approve" it. GL

So cancel that....

The confirmation email came through and they'd f**ked up the package.

Called back, got further discount!! Excellent.

No....

Another confirmation email just arrived, wrong. I've lost all my HD channels, I've lost my HD sport channels.... and my account shows there's no discount on the 'box set' packaged.

Sky is a sea of c**ts.

Emailed them tonight but I'll be calling tomorrow to cancel.

Jokers.. Just don't goto BT tv it's not great... I think if you persevere through the cock ups and dim-witted phone staff there are great discounts available

Sky is like other fixed price subscriptions, good value if you use it regularly enough. Considering the price of going to the cinema, a sports event or the theatre even at full price Sky is pretty cheap entertainment. What this thread shows is the differences in price people are paying for the same service, and it seems to be down to the luck of who you speak to at Sky and how you get on haggling. Slightly different but can you imagine the chaos at a golf club if everyone paid different membership prices because they threatened to go to another course. BT TV is definitely way inferior to Sky Q but for the cost it's not that bad if you enjoy some football, the full BT Max package is less than Sky's basic original package. The sport is the only thing of real interest to me on Sky as it's pretty much the only TV I watch live, everything else is on demand and there's plenty of options for that now with Netflix, Amazon and Sky's Now TV.

Fixed.

I now have everything - all channels - 40% off everything (except, oddly multiscreen which they couldn't discount. Not so worried as £12 for 4x mini boxes is fine). Plus £30 credit.

For the next 18 months therefore I'm paying £59 for the £92 package.

Since I was paying £76 last month, I'm happy with that.

I settled on a very similar deal in the end.

I through in sky fibre too, so £85 per month for everything. Big saving over my total broadband and tv bill of last month, with Q and sky cinema thrown in too.

Last day for us last night. Packaging all arrived to post the 'Q' boxes back.

TTFN Sky, might be back once you've BETA tested the Q boxes!

Just in case you do want to keep Sky try and do a deal whilst you still have the box as once you return it they are not so willing to haggle. Also as they change the LNB when they fit the Q system you cannot fit a standard Sky box to use as a Freesat box as the LNB's are different. We've been offered 50% and 60% off recently until they realised we have returned our Q box then they reduced this to 40%. We never had one hitch with our Q box although we just had the main box, no mini's. What are you going to watch instead?

To be honest we don't really miss Sky as we don't watch that much TV. We have Now TV entertainment pack which we got with cheap deals (which there are plenty of just now if your interested) and Amazon Prime, we also have BT TV which is not great but gives me some sports to watch. Only thing I'll miss is the big golf tournaments but I'll just get some Now TV sports vouchers if we're not back with Sky by the time the golf season starts again.

Now TV black Friday deals have started and have some decent offers.

That's what I do. Dip in and out when I fancy. Got 1 month deal for Sports for £16 yesterday so I can watch rugby and remaining golf tournaments via NowTV on the Apple TV. Probably be another offer next month to tide me over until the New Year.
