M Sport Steering Wheel Airbag Removal

Hey all, am in the middle of retrofitting the m sport steering wheel to my car. The seller I bought the M sport wheel from clipped the airbag back onto the wheel and I need to remove it so I can bolt the wheel onto the steering column. Any ideas how to get it off? I’ve been trying to push in the clips through the small holes but it’s not freaking working and I already spent way too long taking off my old airbag. Any easier ways for removal since the wheel is already off the car?

That's the only way to do it, through the holes. Keep trying, takes some finesse..

dont use a flat head, make sure you use something thick. I find a hex key to work the best. you literally just push it in there and the clips pop up.

The recommended tool is a torx screwdriver, T25.
