Planning next car. Satellite radio only in Premium package?

Well, I have approximately 19 more months left on my F30 335i lease and I am starting to contemplate its replacement.

I really want to save money and not go so crazy so I briefly pondered Mini Countryman, Jetta GLI, Infiniti, Q50 (I don't even know what this will cost yet).

If history proves correctly, I will be disappointed in anything other than a BMW. SO....I briefly thought about the 320i. No sport auto with shift paddles. This is a favorite option of mine, but now out of consideration. I might as well keep my 335i and buy it rather than get this 320i.

I think that I will end up getting an Estoril Blue 328i stripper (with sport auto and shift paddles along with xenons). I don't want the flipping premium package, but nooooo Satellite radio seems to only come with the premium package. WTF!!??? I hate the quality of satellite radio, but there are no other options as far as variety..How disappointing. I may have to end up getting premium even though I don't want to.

Why not just stream music from your phone or a hard drive? I would not pay the 3k+ for premium just for sat radio.

You could wait and see what the 2014/2015 3 series packages are like, since BMW does tweak the packages every year.

You've got 16 months before you need to begin thinking what to do.

Sat radio sound quality is so poor that I wouldn't spend much time worrying. Everytime I attempt to listen to the fidelity-less compressed music channels I quickly revert back to HD radio, FM, MP3, Pandora. Literally anything else. For talk radio Sat radio is fine. I've slightly reacquainted myself with Stern's mornng show which is one of the few values I find in Sat radio.

Sirius is only decent for talk radio. If you compare the sound quality even coming out of Pandora to Sirius, you'll never use Sirius for music.

.....had my reply window open for a while and claykin basically basically took the words out of my mouth. Perhaps it was telepathic plagiarism!

right, it's mainly for the news channels on my commute to work. Otherwise, it's terrible.
