Yes, but the Knick is missing... many people don't know about the less popular Hofmeister Knick.

I'm going to riot if they send an N55 powered 3er GT to the states...
Touring FTW!

I happened to test drive a 5GT this summer, it's a nice car, good view because of the seat height, and pretty good driving feels for a car in this dimension, which probably has more things to do with the smoothness of the engine and gearbox. oh, and the steering wheel size is funny compared to the size of the car, not in a bad way though, but you know.. funny...
Not bad to drive in city and cruise on highway considering you're getting a chassis from 7 series, with a price tag of a 5. But I saw the reality When I did a U-turn, physically it's still a big wobbly car. The same driving experience might hold true for the 3GT. |

I still think the overall styling is poorly executed in the rear of the car though. |

Pretty amazing how BMW could look this ugly.
They will have to pay me to drive one. |

Depends on whether you want more space for the junk in the back (the tourer), or more space for people in the backseat (the GT).

I'm very surprised that there are still people don't know Hofmeister in this forum. He is like one of the most iconic designers.

I have been in the back seat of a 5 GT. It is so large that the car is suitable for a chauffeur, if you can afford one.

I'm not a fan of either GTs...but can see useful applications. In Sydney, I've seen a 5erGT Hire Car (TownCar/Limousine in US speak) which is not a bad alternative to 7er for extra luggage & interior space.
I wonder what sales numbers were for the 5er GT (forecast vs actual). |

I agree! Front end looks so much better than the 3 series sedan. and the whole car looks so much better than the 5er GT except for the side vents. Why why why... why would bmw messed up a nice design just because of the side vents...

I was hoping for a more Sabb 9-5 hatchbackish look.
It looks quite large, is it based on the 3er li they sell in China?
