Best Place to buy Oil Change kit?

Any recommendations?

Some places vary in type of oil...
Some come with a replacement drain plug and some do not..

Kinda confusing...

my last service visit at bmw dealership, they used WARRANTY LL01 5W-30. I would recommend getbmwparts if they offer s&h already included in the price.

I've always got my oil change service kits from ECS for Mercedes and BMW. Been shopping with them for years and they provide OEM parts. Highly recommended.

If you have a 4-Cylinder engine, then replacement drain plug should be included with the filter. Those cars have a plastic oil pan and plastic drain plug and the drain plugs are supposed to be for single use. 6-cylinder engine is a metal pan/drain plug and you can re-use the drain plug.

I've bought oil change kits from getbmwparts in the past, but recently switched to using Liqui-Moly 5W30 Special Tech oil (it's BMW LL01 certified) and noticed less "clatter" from my N20 engine (the 4 cylinder "normal" sound is like a diesel engine when first running cold). I bought it through bavauto along with their filter kit (which included a replacement drain plug).

Call it crazy, but FCPEuro has a lifetime replacement on parts & allows you to return your used oil & filter! https://www.fcpeuro.com/BMW-parts/32...13&m=20&e=2122

Here's how you return the used oil: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYsJc5BsPO4

Its true, since I found out about FCPEuro's Lifetime Replacement policy, I've been buying ALL of my BMW parts from them (oil, air filters, brake pads, rotors all covered). I can't imagine why you would go anywhere else.

I believe this is the kit you need:

Amazon

I am using PP EURO 5W-40 and found on Amazon for $7 then purchase 10 Mann Oil Filters at discount as well. Love ECS for their website and Bavauto & Getbmwparts but there are cheaper alternatives if you piece it together yourself.

Thanks for the advice guys. Any place you can recommend for me to buy the tool needed to remove the oil filter? Besides that I guess I need an oil pan and then I should be good to go?

What do you need an oil pan for

You're just changing the oil - you need:

OIL
FILTER

Any recommendation on a torque wrench for the oil cap? Looks like specs are 6Nm (53 in lbs) and my current torque wrench doesnt go down that low.

I just bought from ECS and it was $30 cheaper at the other site. That is what I get for being impatient.

When I first read "return your used oil and filter" I thought you meant simply for recycling, which didn't make any sense to me because you can recycle your used oil at just about any auto parts store. Then I watched the video and read the comments, and it really does mean "return" (for credit). Unbelievable. Buy once, then pay for shipping henceforth.

I know where I'm getting my next oil change and brakes done! That's awesome! I'd do it now if it wasn't for my stockpiling 2 oil changes ago lol.
Took advantage of the 5 qts and filter for 25$ at advance. Castrol edge synthetic stx.

Anyone use ARAL Super Longlife III oil? If so, is it better than the Mobil1?

Put the old oil back in containers and will ship for "warranty" claim
