I thought we were talking about the OPs car which is an xdrive? Therefore a 25 drop which in theory should be very noticeable.

You'll need to Butch your car up too.

No doubt it looks a bit lower, but it would probably need about a 40mm drop to get the wheel close to the arch especially at the front, that always looked higher on my 335d, the gap never really bothered me on my F30

So just picked the car up. I cannot begin to describe how much better the car feels. Being nagged by wife to get things done so will post full impressions up later.

Re power, there's more shove but certainly not night and day.

Still trying to get over improvement in handling.....

Another one - will take a while for springs to settle.

Congratulations.
Much better stance. They'll bed-in in a week. Load the car up with your wife and her handbags and it could be quicker. How about the ride? .......... of the car!

Fantastic guy, glad it seems better. For the power upgrade, some systems I believe have to "learn" the car or the way you drive? I would put a few miles on it first, then judge it in a week or so

Is it stiffer than sDrive do you think?

I think it might be a tad but ride quality is excellent. Going to hopefully do back to back with dealer with 330d sDrive.

I can most certainly live with it.

Sounds good....I'm always nervous about a spring only deal.....but I guess if you can't trust ACS to do a good matching job, then who can you trust?

When you do, ensure that cold tyre pressures on the cars are at manufacturer's recommended levels. Check these for yourself. Trust no one. Get a £9.99 Halfords gauge if you have not got one already. RFT's Ride/grip/handling are very sensitive to tyre pressures.

It would also be interesting if you tried an sDrive (still the best) 330d M Sport with 18" wheels. Pressures Front 2.4 bar, Rear 2.6 bar for these sensible wheels. I found the 18" wheels preferable to 19" ones for ride, handling and grip, especially in the wet for the last characteristic. When I did the comparison, I ensured tyre pressures were as per manufacturer's recommendation. A bit of a pain getting down on your haunches, though I am sure you've been in such a position numerous times before.

Otherwise, it will be a pointless exercise.

Lastly, don't forget to check your pressures when you do your dyno runs. Don't cheat.

Suspension collapse? God forbid.
Blown Engine? Heaven forbid.
It is more likely he is writing one of his customary massive essays for our bed time reading.

Or busy getting chores done! Finally had a chance to give the car a pretty good run just now for about 45 mins.

Power's starting to now make a difference - obviously needed to bed. Have done some acceleration comparisons (done on private road as couldn't make it to France) on video so will get them put together.

It's amazing how quickly you get used to something. I do want to compare side by side with sDrive.

Waiting for curry then will do my essay!

Please ensure verbal diarrhoea precedes the curry induced one and it is before my bedtime.

I've just returned from a trip to see the mighty St Johnstone win the Scottish cup, almost as excited to hear the latest on this.. Expecting to have missed all the news, so quite happy the full review isn't ready yet!

Afraid you'll have to wait as am knackered. Also haven't quite driven enough. Going to go out and put some miles on tomorrow.

I'm also wondering whether there's a bit of placebo effect going on with the power side of things as have just compared acceleration runs and whilst I could swear there's more pull, the times are very similar indeed.

Value for money at moment out of 10 - springs is a 10 and power upgrade is a 1.

It could just be I need to get some miles on the car (will be doing about 200 on Monday).

I am going to call ACS on Monday.
